I really think these guys are going to be awesome together this year.
Much better than AJ, CB, and Gil.
We have a true PG
A balls out SG scorer who can also do some PG
and a PF who can do it inside and out while playing above average D and he has good BB IQ ....passing and sees the court well. And he is young with upside still.
Thats a great core without even mentioning what could be from the others.

Re: Gil, Wall and Dray
I think it all depends on chemistry as well. Also, how John Wall distributes the ball and finds his teammates where they are most comfortable with the ball. I really see it as an exciting core, they should be able to put up plenty of points, as for the defensive end, well they will struggle a bit. As long as they make strides in progress and team chemistry, defense, etc. I think they will be just fine.

Is it a new fad to create threads talking of player combination's?

Just reading through this one, seems like a repeat of everything that was said in the other ones.
...
I just don't see the point in starting that.

True about Wall. But I believe that is one of his strengths. And Kirk can do it also and so can Gil. So regarding us being able to run the break or them being able to get plays set up so players get the ball where they need it, I think we have that covered.
Defense
Wall is a good defender.
Dray is a good defender.
I believe Gil will also upgrade his defense since he doesn't have to cover other quick PGs
These are the core leaders of the team along with Kirk. So how they lead while have an affect on how the team is molded. I've feeling better about this group and any other group that has been here in a long while.

Re: Gil, Wall and Dray
One of the rent-a-mods needs to explain how this thread stays open and my Gil and Yi and the several other threads are locked. Is it because hands used paragraphs where as we used simple words to allow the development of thought and discussion?
BS!!!
BS!!!

Every potential thread is a waste unless it's started by hands. This is hands' board, we all are just playing bit parts in it.

Re: Gil, Wall and Dray
Nice article & vid on Dray in the Insider
http://voices.washingtonpost.com/wizard ... .html#more
-----------------------------------------------------------------
I made threads on other Wiz websites saying that people dont talk about Dray's injury enough. It seems like everyone in the Orginization was talking about how good Dray looked & how hard he was working in the Summer. I honestly had no doubt in my mind that as the season went underway, one of the big stories around the league wouldve been about how alot of PF's got big money in the Offseason but the most talented one of them all only makes 3mil a year in Dray.
NY is so hyped over the Amare signing but we play them like 4 times this year and I couldve seen Dray just abusing him on every level and outplaying him in atleast 3 of the 4 games. Now its like he can still do very well but it wont ever be like it couldve been. Most think that since he shouldnt miss time then its not a big deal but thats like 3 months he went without running at all. He went the whole Summer without getting to expand his game one bit. It sucks so bad.
The good thing is that I heard him talk early on and he seemed confident that his weight is the main thing & that basketball will come back quickly but IDK. I thought we were definitely a playoff team with that version of Dray but without that version, we could go either way. Then we resigned Howard and I said we are definitely a playoff team again. Still, a healthy Gil, Wall, & a non injuried Dray wouldve been so money.
Dray was even lifting weights like everyone wanted. I said the whole time that he will be unstoppable with Wall pushing the rock & guys like Gil getting doubled. I also thought he would rebound the ball way better since he's in better shape & dont have to worry about carrying the team. Now those things change. Dont get it twisted, he's still mad talented so he's going to produce no matter what but it just wont be what it couldve been.
Imagine him for the last 3 months doing nothing but dieting, lifting weights, working on new moves, and being mad confident. I would put him up against Amare & Bosh any day if that were the case. Now he's going to be trying to catchup. Oh well. Lets just hope that he's atleast fully healthy and doesnt reinjure himself.
The vid looks great though as he had mad quickness since he was in shape & lost weight. Hopefully he can get that back in this short amount of time. If not then maybe by midseason, he can start to hit his stride

I appreciate you vote of confidence brother and I see the smiley but since you brought this up even in joking I figured I would respond. I think the board is best when
We have lots of quality contributors.
When people lean toward being respectful and inclusive vs the opposite.
When people avoid personal attacks and controversial language like..that's stupid or your clueless..
When there is less posting promoting a select group as the face of the board.
When people are always negitive.
Debate is obviously welcome and will sometimes be controversial but it doesn't have to be as often as it is.. Predictions and some chest thumping also part of the fun.
I'm just a fan who likes to share information about my favorite basketball team that I have followed since I was a kid. So I post articles and views and try to keep people pumped when I see the glass half full. I also post about things I find to be warning signs or dead ends. Hopefully some find contributions to be....well...a contribution.
Regarding starting this thread, what happened was I posted in another thread trying to follow the outline of procedure as it was outlined when I show up here which was to post in existing threads when possible. Personally I think sometimes that is taken to far but that's just me. I try to follow the rules anyway. No mod is going to do a perfect job to suit everyone here. I'm not one to jump in a lot of threads with IBTL like some. Actually I don't recall every posting that in a thread. So I asked before starting this thread. And since the other one seemed to be ok since there were at least one post by a mod and several posts from long time contributing members and it wasn't merged, I started one about the three core players. Seemed an appropriate topic for conversation. While I hope we end up with a solid team in total and there are other boarder line core players like maybe McGee or Kirk, this team is going to be primary lead by these three players which should be exciting to watch. Hopefully we see other emerge though.
Hopefully we can avoid these kinds of debates and just stick to cheering on our team and building a fun environment for new and exiting members to join in. We have both been here a while. I respect your positive contributions.
