I don't imagine that Wall's stardom will merely be limited to "super" status. I envision him reaching megastar in stature -- where in the decades to come people will be auctioning off vials of his sweat and imagining seeing his holy visage in their grilled cheese sandwiches and the like.

I see him in the Deron Williams/Chris Paul mode, obviously a perennial All-Star, but maybe not a true blue superstar as in top 5-10 player in the league. If he can reach the level that Gilbert was at in 06-07 and actually maintain that for 10 years I would be happy.

I like to think of John Wall with, like, giant eagle's wings, and singing lead vocals for Lynyrd Skynyrd with, like, an angel band, and I'm in the front row, and I'm hammered drunk.

I remember one of our mods on the Knicks board saying he looked like a "smaller Kobe" during John's kentucky days. I'm not gonna throw the MJ comparisons around, but I remember Bob Knight saying that he thought mike was the fastest player he had ever seen; I've watched alot of early mike and i've seen plenty of wall, and Wall reminds me of MJ in some instances. That break neck speed, those circus shots, the poise, that competitive fire, It's all very mike like IMO.

That's not to say He'll be his Airness's Heirness.

Wall doesn't have the jumper (yet) or the bag of moves (even though he's got moves) Mike had;

Wall's got the attributes to be a really good defensive player (for most of mike's career, it was arguable he was the best defensive player in the game as well.).

He's younger than mike in comparison was when he came into the league, and he's definitely more of a facilitator (and as a Point Guard he should be) than mike was.

Wall is a superstar. Surround him with some shooters and he will average 10 assists in his rookie year.

He has the tools of a superstar, I don't want to make judgement just yet. I want to watch him play a whole rookie season and then go from there, his obvious flaws is his shooting and defense, which will come in time of course.

Heat fan here.

He does remind me a little of Wade, at least in the way he attacks the basket and defends. I'm doubtful he will ever become a great shooter, but I don't think that will limit his game. If he can develop a decent mid-range game and streaky 3-point shot - like Wade - the rest of his game will take over. I think he has the physical tools to be the most dominant point guard for some time, will almost certainly be a star, but - all being well - a superstar is quite likely too.
There is no consolation prize. Winning is everything.

Not sure about the MJ comparison. MJ's shot wasnt as deadly coming into the L, but im pretty sure Wall's is worse. Also Wall is a lot quicker and more of a distributor.

I definitely see Wade.

A 2003/04 Wade with a sprinkling of CP3, In Westbrook's body.

We need to get Gary Payton in to work with him on defense, and on trash talking. Then we will have the best PG in the L for the next decade.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

Wall is taller than Westbrook and has a bigger wingspan/standing reach.
