How often does a #1 immediately become a captain

Post#1 » by hands11 » Fri Dec 17, 2010 7:50 pm

Not sure this has a thread already and if I did I was to lazy to go looking for it.

I know we talked about this somewhere before though.

Summary:

I never liked that they did this from day one.

1- I thought it was putting to much on the kid given Dray, Howard and Dray where here
2- I thought it was a dis to Dray
3- I thought it gave him to much without giving him something to grow into
4- I think it added more to his already full plate
5- I thought it would put Gil in a crappy place. Not saying Gil could have been the captain but still
6- I think it is adding to the dysfunction of this team.

I think the captains should have been Kirk and Dray or non if that is even an option.

I would have rather they brought Wall along a little slower and off the bench to start the season. We all know there would be adjustments for him and for the team. As the #1 he was going to get attention either way.

The way the did it was kind of suck in my view. Now with his injuries I think it would be best for him to come off the bench when he is ready.

So how is this #1 pick rookie who is injured, struggling and probably coming off the bench supposed to be a captain on a team that is about to have Dray, Howard, Gil and Kirk ready to roll together in the next few weeks.

It just seems like it was a huge mistake to me and I'm challenged to see how this is good for Wall, Dray, or the team and what can they do to undo this.

How often is a #1 pick made and immediate caption ?

Why you have to come across like that ?

I asked an honest question. No reason to come across that way.
