Firing EJ was the beginning of the "culture" change.
Firing Ernie will be the ending. I patiently await that day.

Given McGee's potential there's going to be a major squeeze for C-PF minutes once Haywood comes back, and Andray has a very cap-friendly, tradeable contract. Can he push Jamison to the 6th man role, which will require solid rebounding? Or will he be shipped out with Mike James or Stevenson? The moment of truth may be coming sooner than we expect.
I've been making this point for a while now and it's great to finally see somebody else at least entertain the thought of trading Blatche. It's just not going to be feasible to play Haywood 30 minutes, Jamison 30 minutes, and develop both McGee and Blatche. One way to mitigate that would be for Jamison to spend alot of his time at SF. But then that means we can't use McGuire. It's a trickle down effect and somebody will have to lose out.
My point is that we can't just keep accumulating young talent and hoarding it. At some point we've got to commit to the guys we're going to build around and use the others to make moves to shore up points of weakness. If we can use Blatche to unload Stevenson+James for a quality starter at SG I think we have to pull the trigger.
Great post!

EG gave him an extension so it's not really fair to say EJ wasn't EG's guy.
I wish all the best to Eddie Jordan. He signed on as head coach when this franchise was probably at its lowest point - in the aftermath of Michael Jordan. Sure, he got lucky that Arenas landed here, but 4 straight playoff appearances for this team is a huge success. I hope DC's own gets another shot somewhere.
I'm just getting in from work, 11 pages into the thread, but I have to echo theses sentiments.
All the best to Eddie Jordan. I don't think he's a good coach but I do think he's a class act.
Personally, I hope EJ does something really fulfilling and rewarding where he can mentor young men or serve in some other capacity. Perhaps not an NBA gig, but maybe something like coaching at a prep school or at a college.
He's got the money of being an NBA coach. I hope he does something fun and worthwhile next.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.
