Re: All-Star Weekend thread
I was also expecting the 12 foot dunk at some point from Javale. It's tailor made for him. And if he could do 13 feet, he'd be an instand slam dunk contest legend.

Then do a 360 windmill on it. Contest over.

His car dunk was bogus and all show. All of those guys could do that.
Yeah but you were jumping over a Ford Pinto. . .

OK guys, take this post in the spirit it's intended. Don't want to get starting on all kinds of UFO conspiracy tangents, etc.
But I didn't see too many of you guys on the General Board commenting on this. So I'm importing it here for your review:
Blake Griffin COULDN’T lose Slam Dunk contest?
Have at it.

Oh dear...
That, along with the new book on the Donaghy scandal, really makes one wonder.

Re: All-Star Weekend thread
That release looks bad and it's a bad blunder by the NBA PR office. However, there are lots of times in PR when you prepare alternate versions of a press release pending the outcome of the event. Those alternate versions shouldn't get out ahead of the event, however.

Re: All-Star Weekend thread
I'm really not a conspiracy theorist. So all I have to say is this:
If you're going to bring in members of a choir and drive a car onto the court, you sure would have had to have been confident that you'd at least make it to the finals if you're going to use that as your finale.
If not, you would have risked bringing all of the choir members to the arena and staging the car back stage for absolutely nothing if you hadn't advanced to the finals.

Re: All-Star Weekend thread
If the league was going conspiracy on the dunk contest, I think they did it with their contestant selection. Griffin is a star already. McGee? Ibaka? DeRozan? Not so much. McGee had the two best dunks in the contest, but he did them both in the first round. I wish McGee would feel the burn of being shafted and work on his game to become an All-Star, but I don't think he's wired that way.

Re: All-Star Weekend thread
I would like to see how far one of these big man can dunk from when jumping off of two feet. I would also like to see a triple-jump style move, with someone like Javale taking three strides from center court or thereabout.
