He's athletic as hell, but at least 3 times a game, I end up facepalming myself over something stupid he does. It's getting to the point where I'm close to giving myself a concussion during every Wizards game.

+1.

Even if it doesn't work out, I'd still like to see it tried for a while. Booker has been fantastic as an off-the-bench energy player ever since January. I'm anxious to see if he can be effective when matched up against opposing starters for 25-30 minutes. I'd really like to know if we already have a guy on the roster who might pan out to be our starting PF of the future.

If Booker can actually post 12 points and 10 boards a game with good efficiency and above average defense, it'll might seriously change our strategy going forward.

And if Blatche actually plays as a center, he'll generally be forced to play closer to the basket at both ends. That should (hopefully) force him into greater defensive rebounding and greater offensive efficiency.

Depends on the matchup.
I've been taught all my life to value service to the weak and powerless.

I think he kind of looks like Jason Derulo.

Give Booker 24 mins a night I think he could pull down 12-14 a game.

Rebounding is all about team rebounding so I wouldn't blame Blatche etc for boxing out Love while the teammates got the rebounds. Booker had a good night but the big thing is consistency. Even McGee has had big games but usually follows up with a dud. Booker's jams were great; but I want to see him put forth that kind of effort consistently before I write him into McGee's minutes, who I admit has been horrible since the all star break.

Blatche also seems to play better at C, so we'd be improved at both positions. Some have said in other threads that they think that might be Blatche's best position anyway, and they might be right based on how he performed the year Haywood was out with the wrist injury (his most consistent season IMO).

I'd really like to spend the remaining games experimenting with a Blatche/Booker starting frontcourt. If we can salvage Blatche's value by moving him to the middle and putting him next to our own version of Milsap, that would be HUGE for opening up our trade possibilities.

It also didn't hurt with Blatche playing center given that the T-Wolves themselves don't have a legit center. I'm not sure how it works against other teams that are bigger than the T-Wolves which is pretty much everyone.

Can't be worse than what we've seen from McGee lately, so why not give it a shot?

Ive also been saying the Dray at 5, Book at 4 thing. Even if you dont start it, why dont we see it more? It never makes any sense to me. They take McGee out & bring Seraphin in when I thought Book & Dray were the perfect matchup for teams like the Warriors and someone else we recently played. I just dont get Flip's & Randy's rotations. Thats why they have to go. Dont get me wrong, you have to play Seraphin too as he's playing well but lets see more of the Dray-Book combo

Ruzious wrote:Not to break up the love fest for Booker, but I think I could knock Love off balance if I push him in the back with both hands full force - and that cost the Wiz a possession. It was the kind of desperation move you make when you can't handle somebody. Having said that, those 2 rebound dunks were HUGE. Booker's showed why he's becoming an excellent energy player - off the bench.

He had actually locked him down totally and we got the rebound.

The throw down was more of a message. One that hasn't been sent by a Wizard playing in a long time. But since Booker and Seraphin have played more, I think they are sending it.

All us Wizards are punks. Check out the star on my arm Beeeetch.

Booker is on tough dude. Glad we have him.

I frickin LOVED Booker's throwing Love - not as much as his two posturizing dunks that ignited both his team and the crowd but loved it all the same. How often do we find ourselves saying that Wizards players are physically manhandling their competition inside? This may be the first time in the last 5 years or so. I'll take a foul and point or two for this every now and then.
