At only 26 years old, he is the youngest center on the market, and the most promising free agent in general. However, he is a restricted free agent meaning Memphis could match our offer. This mean that perhaps we would have to overpay a bit for him. What do you guys think? Would you pay him $11 million a year?

I like Gasol, but I think(hope) this franchise has changed its philosophy vis a vis over-paying players with nominal upside. I doubt we'd be willing to make an offer that exceeds what Memphis is willing to pay. The Wiz made some major cap-clearing moves last year, I'm hoping that means they're aiming big, like Dwight Howard big. That said, I think Gasol is a very nice player.
