Melo's probably the best iso scorer in the game right now. Even Singleton at his prime is not going to be able to stop him without help.

interesting thing was that while Sing didn't slow Melo down much
although I do think he annoyed him, Booker did a pretty solid
job on him when we made our late run.

my main take on the game was coulda, woulda shoulda

the off goal tending that wasn't called
Melo smackin Book in the face stunning him long enough to get open for the
decisive basket
Sing missing a dunk...
McGee missing the dunk AND subsequent FTs

we really shoulda won and played pretty much well enough to win

If they had played that way on Sunday afternoon, the probably would have won.

Now maybe (or not) they have saved their first W of the season for
my birthday night on Tuesday although I am definitely NOT holding my breath.

oh yeah, my other optimistic take on this game was that the guys
we are presumably counting on to become core and productive players
(Wall, McGee, Sing, Book) played pretty well.
Blatche continued to make himself a little more
attractive as trade bait.

I don't agree about Booker. Singleton is a no-brainer. Booker is an energy guy off the bench. He's too short to be a full-time power forward and he provides little offense. We are stuck with Blatche until Jan is ready.

We're talking about Blatche. I don't care who takes his starting spot, just get this loser out of the line up and off the team. Addition by subtraction. If Booker is better as an energy guy off the bench, i'd push Shard up 4 (where he's played majority of his career) and put Singleton at the 3. It might at least create some space in the offense.

Lewis at the 4, Singleton at the 3 but not be a bad idea. But you can't keep starting Lewis after tonight's horrible performance.

Lewis was truly horrible and it was inexcusable for a guy making his money
to not hustle after making the TO.

I seriously wonder if mgmt told him, "your knee is sore right? Right?(wink-nudge)"
as Sing earned his way to a start on Sunday.

I'm betting there are lots of Wiz fans who secretly (or explicitly) want his
knee to stay sore for a while.

It was a back issue but he thought it was his groin. he probably pulled something without stretching right before he was about to bone your team.
