Ron Paul is up to 20% in South freaking Carolina! If he can compete there, he can compete and win in other states.

Ron Paul is probably going to finish 2nd in total delegate count. He has a ground game in every state and the fundraising to go the distance. Huntsman and Perry will drop out after South Carolina and Santorum and Gingrich will continue to split the social conservative vote.
The media (including conservative talk radio) has thrown everything they have at Ron Paul and he's still going strong. If his continued success finally shreds the "unelectable" label, he might even win the damn thing.

Well, I'm sure all that growth can be attributed to the gold standard and none to the industrial revolution. And the recessions caused by collapses in gold prices after new supplies were found or after unexpected changes in demand, well that was all just imaginary.
