How about this trade w/ HOU at deadline:

Wiz trade Blatche, Booker, Singleton for Scola and Morris

Why for HOU- they save roughly $2.5m/year for next 3 years w/Blatche over Scola. They get 2 good prospects in Booker/Singleton for Morris.

Why for Wiz- we finally get rid of Blatche. Scola will upgrade our low post offense immediately and better fit alongside McGee if we decide to keep in. Yes he's 31, but if we plan on drafting Davis or another rookie PF with our lottery pick, it will be good to have a proven PF veteran to bring him along. We also get Morris, who can brings the offensive talent that both Booker/Singleton lack. I think he's versatile enough like A Harrington to play both PF/SF.

At end of season, we hopefully draft Davis, we go hard after Gordon, see if we can sign shooting SF ala Batum, and sign McGee or another FA center:

Our realistic lineup next year would then :
PG-Wall/Mack
SG-Gordon/Crawford
SF-Batum/Vesely/Morris
PF-Scola/Davis/Morris
C- McGee/Seraphin

Assuming we amnesty Lewis, we can offer Gordon max at $15m and sign McGee or another FA center at $10m/yr, and give an SF like Batum long term deal at $6m...we are at the salary cap of around $58m

This lineup would definitely contend for playoffs next year and based on development of Davis, and continued development of Wall and McGee, I can see this team being top 4 in East in 3 years.

IMO this is bad for Houston. Wiz would probably have to add a future (protected) 1st and even after that, I'm not sure if it's enough.

These deals are wildly unfair for the other team. Utah wouldn't give up Kanter alone for Vesely, Booker and Mack. What makes you think they'd throw in a Blatche for Harris swap on top?

Heck, why don't we just go Blatche for Howard? I'm sure we'd need to throw some folks in like Seaphin to make salaries work, but as long as we're fantasizing....

EDITED: I had not read the posts above when I originally posted. This trade IMO is realistic and fair--nobody wants Blatche's deal right now, and the Wizards aren't getting any of Utah's young talent.

Jefferson is the low post PF this team needs. He is a good shooter and a very good defensive rebounder, two areas the Wizards need improving. His game would make McGee's life easier. Harris can be a third guard who allows the Wizards to let Young walk. Evans reminds me a lot of Josh Smith. I think he's tremendously underrated. If the Wizards are bound to lose McGee and nobody will take Blatche, then perhaps getting Jefferson for the froncourt makes sense.

Utah moves Harris, someone they do no want. They would reunite Mack with Gordon Hayward. By moving Jefferson, they allow Kanter and Favors more time at C. Who knows, but Seraphin also fits Corbin's style of play.

I was thinking something similar, but with Crawford instead of the 2013 first.

I just don't think they would give away Jefferson without getting back a pick or a comparable player.

^ True, big Al is still averaging 18 & 9. In the end I doubt they use him as sweetener just to dump Devin Harris.
