I echo the thoughts on Singleton. He needs work, he's going to be limited, but he has the tools to be a good rotation player. The lack of a real training camp hurt him a lot.

I think the lockout hurt Ves even more. He, more than anyone on the roster, is a system-dependent glue guy. He always tries to do the right thing, but with so little practice time, it often seems like the team doesn't really know all the plays, or their execution is sloppy.

I need to pull the numbers, but I think Ves' rebounding has been going up. That's an encouraging sign. His defense remains solid, and while the game is still a bit fast for him, his court vision is pretty decent. I am somewhat gravely concerned that, as some posters (Dat?) have pointed out, his shooting is something out of Popeye Jones' nightmares. It's hard to believe he could be that bad, but he is. Either he's never worked on it with diligence, he's nearsighted, or he's the worst natural shooter I have ever seen.

I'm probably higher on Vesley than Singleton. Vesley's jumper is completely broken, but if he just puts on enough muscle to hold his ground against power forwards, he can be a very useful defensive/energy big. He also knows how to cut and can pass, so while that might not be worth the 6th spot in most drafts, it would be decent enough for this past one.

They're both rookies, and as someone else said, system players, so I'm reserving judgment until halfway through next year.
