John Wall told me before the game he's going to work on his three-point shooting this summer. Duh. The miss he had makes him now an insane 3-of-41 on the season from three-point range.

:o

screw the three point shot...he needs to work on his 2 pointer

Does anyone miss that play they ran for years. I sure don't.

Hell the iso dates back to EFJ.

Finally we have a coach that draws up good plays off time outs.

I have excepted where Wall is at this point. The bashing he deserves dates back to what he did over the summer and as a result the way he started the season. He admits he made a mistake. That is the biggest reason he doesn't have a better jump shot and didn't learn to change pace. So know he is going to work on fixing that. You can't change the past. You can only change the future. He will be a 3rd year PG with a better jump shot next year with a better team. Year 3 is a great year traditionally for star PGs. That is when they start to put it together. He could break into that 9 or 10 assists a game player next year.

Things are looking bright for the future. They could even make the playoffs next year. Not like the conference is stacked. They could break into the top 8 if things break the right way. This team is totally redesigned from two years ago. It's young, increasingly talented and they have a good cap position.

The kid had a nice game against a championship team. It doesn't matter if their entire starting lineup is out, a team of that pedigree is going to put up a fight no matter what.

No need to apologize. I get why you think that. You did miss that I said this was one of his best games of the year and I meant that.

But in taking that into account, he still had 5 turnovers and it could have been a few more and he still took 4 or 5 bad shots (most of which were called out by other posters in this game thread). So yes he played one of his better games, but it's hard for me to overlook 8-10 wasted possessions in an NBA game. Just like if a QB threw for 400 yards and 3 TDs, you wouldn't be able to overlook 3 INTs.

Wall made the plays down the stretch to win an NBA game. That's the bottom line in this game and kudos are appropriate.

His shooting is so broken right now. The only shots he makes are at the rim.
To his credit, he uses considerable albeit imperfect discretion in choosing
when to shoot.

I'm surprised we won this game considering Martin was the only player
who really shot it well.

I continue to like the way Ves plays. In the beginning of the game he
made a series of just solid basketball plays to help get us off to a good
start. JSing definitely had an off game shooting. And we know Craw did
too but I am not as critical as many here of his games like this. He does
other things. And not that you can single out one specific basket in a 2 pt
game, but his 3 to end the half ended up being HUGE. That's the time/place
for a guy with extreme confidence. Craw missed a ton of pretty good shots
and didn't take that many really questionable ones. And he should have gotten
the call at the end that would have made the last play academic.

Exactly. He did have 6 rebounds and 2 assists. He also dived on the floor to get that one turnover after missing getting it the first time. Big time hustle play.

Crawford just needs someone to work with his on his mechanics on his outside set shot. He doesn't have a consistent release. To often, he cocks his wrist near the peak of his jump after he jumps instead of having it cocked as part of his jumping motion. He needs to watch some Rip, Korver, Ray Allen game tape.

But with no summer contact from the team, who knows if they know this already and didn't have a chance to fix it.
