Wizard Fans...Do You Think Gilbert Arenas Is Coming Back??

Post#1 » by plastmasta » Sun Jan 13, 2008 4:00 am

I am a fantasy owner who had the misfortune of trading Baron Davis for GA right before he got hurt.

Do you think he is coming back this season or not?

Just wanted some perspective and thoughts from Wizard fans...

Butler and Jamison seem to think he'll be back.

But the man himself wrote "See you next year" or something to that extent if he's not 100 percent...

At this point, I think it's safe to say no. Good luck with your fantasy team!

I was going to post a smart-ass comment, then realized fisher performed a necro-bump. Well played.

He's look pretty sick on this team right now. Are we ever going to be wowed like that again?

Gilbert didn't have a great Chinese Basketball Association season according to this writer.

http://sharkfinhoops.com/2013/02/25/are ... er-grades/

The Chinese Basketball Association schedule is done and dusted for another season as far as the Shanghai Sharks are concerned. Nine months of quiet now beckon but not before grades are dished out on a disappointing but eventful 10-22 campaign.

PG/SG: Gilbert Arenas: 6/10

Games: 14, MPG:27.3, PPG: 20.7, RPG: 7.3, APG:3.0

It could have been a ten because when a fully fit Arenas has played, its been wonderful and exactly what you want from a gun slinging combo guard. Had he been fit, he could have been a 30 points-a-night guy in the CBA but instead he inadvertently derailed a season and cost his head coach a job. Expect Arenas to be back next season but probably not with Shanghai.

DJ White, his teammate did have a good season. He's signing with Boston.

Given the circumstances that White found himself in, the former Charlotte Hornet was constantly superb for the Sharks. Having played every single game this regular season, White at times carried the [team] when injuries and nerves were affecting other team mates. The stats might not be eye-catching but he could be a very useful guy for an NBA team needing a gritty fifteen minute shift.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

he's still got it. if he can get in shape I see no reason why he couldn't still be a 16-18ppg player in the league. top 6th man. that jumper is smooth as butter.

Yeah he needs to lose 20 lbs and just shoot that awesome fadeaway. He's not in the league but Jan Vesely is? Give me a break.

C'mon guys, I love Gil as much as the next guy, but lets be real: he's no longer an NBA-caliber player. He had a few flashes last yr w/ Memphis, but overall, he was terrible. All those knee surgeries zapped his athleticism, and he is no longer capable of playing PG. In the playoffs vs. the Clippers, in the few minutes he did play, he was unable to even bring the ball up the court, and OJ Mayo was forced to play PG. And he would be a liability on defense. All he was last yr was a spot-up shooter.

The competition is so much weaker in China that you can't compare.

You don't love Gil. Love is blind. You are not.
