One thing that is interesting is that our defense seems to get settled in as the game goes...that might be a function of Ariza coming in later providing the defensive differential...I'd say Webster provides better floor spacing, but Ariza hasn't been awful from 3 pt land either lately. If it helps either bolster his trade value or allows him to consider opting out it could be good to start him again while we try to hide webster on the bench.

I like the rotation the way it is now. Webster provides reliable shooting and floor spacing which is important to get the team in an offensive rhythm. Ariza is a shutdown defender and provides some energy when the team needs a boost. I like Ariza in the game late when the opponent runs all the offensive plays through their star (and it's good if his minutes have been limited to that point so he's fresh and not in foul trouble). When the matchups favor it, Wittman plays them both together in crunch time.

Call me crazy but I'm willing to give the Chris Singleton Power Forward experiment another go. He defended Carmelo pretty well last night in those opening minutes.

Singleton is too bad on offense to be a viable option. He can't do anything going to the basket unless he has a wide open lane. His jumper isn't that good and his release is slow. Plus he seems to avoid shooting 3s, preferring long 2s instead.

His line last night

21 minutes
0 points
1 rebound
0 assists
-13 (worst on the team)

Okafor plays hard but he can't shoot a lick. He was 3-8 from the foul line tonight and has a lousy jumper.

I'm not a stat freak but I know Okafor has been shooting well the last couple of months. He's shooting an awful 54% from the line but 49% from the field. He's not just making layups so his mid-range jumper hasn't been pretty good and he uses the glass well. Except against the Knicks. He might be wearing down a bit.
