Yes. He could. But history suggests he won't.

Point guards who continue to shoot the ball so poorly and turn the ball so often after 3 years in league generally don't get that much better. Perhaps Wall is the exception. He did start at a very young age. If he is going to improve, he definitely needs to do something different. Whatever he has been doing ain't working.

To be fair, he started early, and has really only played in what amounts to be 2 seasons.
Just the DRose/Westbrook comparisons are wrong and always have been. The only similarity is that all 3 are ridiculously athletic. There's a reason Payton said no player reminds him as much of himself as Wall does. I don't just think Payton has a man crush on Wall, he really meant it. Wall can become a lock down defender and distributor and have an amazing career. But we shouldn't think he'll have average 20+ points a game. If this roster is built correctly, he won't need to.

Wizards also need to stop winning that is not helping us with less then two months left in the season. We need to lose to get a top 5 draft pick. Even on the sport talk live show they thinks the wizards should tank to get a high draft pick. I don't understand why people want us to win these remaining games i root for us to lose.

Because no one is confident in Ernies ability to draft good players. Regardless of the position were picking.

Well i agree he did a good job picking Beal at least. I still would take my chances with a high draft pick even if we do have Ernie as are gm.

We just have to hope that the lockout + this years injury have stunted his development. Not much to hang our hats on.

Wall came in to a team of complete knuckleheads who couldn't shoot, and was expected to somehow turn this team around. Only this year has he had a real team around him, with veteran leadership, but he was out injured for a substantial period. Yes, it would be great had we seen some real jumps in progress. But I'm holding out judgement for another year on the guy.

I do not believe Wall's top game has been reached, not by a long shot. Yes, its possible he's reached his peak, I just think we've call this one too early. He still can be an all-star. This gets at the perceived value point. Yes, maybe we can get something decent out of this. But it would be even better if we got an all star out of this, meaning John Wall.

I don't think Wall has peaked, but I do believe that his peak won't be very impressive. Right now, he's a below average starting PG. He isn't even in the top 15. I think he'll peak at around average, or maybe slightly above. But I don't think he'll crack the top 10 for any length of time.

There are worse things than having an average starting PG, so it's not like we should dump the guy or anything. But if we could fool another team into giving us a pick or prospect that is likely to pan out to be above average at his position, we need to consider it.

I totally get the sentiment and you may be right. I certainly held out hope for Blatche a year longer than I should have (not not nearly as long as some here). I still feel Wall's decision making will improve when (if) his jumper becomes solid. My perception is that to many of his bad decisions come because he has so few options to score, but for somer reason, feels he needs to take the game over. He, along with the whole team need to become far less careless on their passes - at this point I'm putting that down to Wittman's attention to detail.
