:)

I'm yet to see one thing I suggested the Wizards ever did, aside from acquiring Mo Almond. I guess I get both credit and blame there, too.

(I still think he can play and it was terrific while it lasted!)

Are you one of the guys who are always hard on Wall talking about how he should be traded until he has a game like tonight; too down on him when he struggles, overzealous when he puts a game like tonight together and unable to put things in perspective? Wall cannot get 4 TOs a night like tonight just because he scores and has high assists totals and be fine because two of the turnovers came at the worst and most important moments in the game. I'm as big a Wall proponent as any other guy in here who supports him; Wall has to realize that he is turning the ball over at almost the same point in tight games every time and get a handle on that.

:dontknow:

The turnover Wall got at crunch time, after he made a great play, was a momentum killer. Sometimes that one "aw shucks" cancels out a hundred "atta boys".

Wall had a dynamic game but he needs to sharpen his end of game decision making and execution.

I'm one of Wall's biggest supporters. I definitely have been disappointed that he's not lived up to his talent as of yet but I do believe the Wizards could not have made it harder for him to develop and grow into a star. The TOs have definitely been a problem but last night he got those TOs while being aggressive and making things happen. If your production is LeBron like then a few TOs is something that can be overlooked. Wall was successful because he was relentlessly attacking throughout the entire game. Give me the guy I saw last night over one of his 11 & 6 games with only 2 TOs. Wall is a bad game manager. A.J. Price is better at that role. Wall should be told, attack attack attack.

^The turnover after the forcing the Livingston turnover seemed equally on Webster. It was a very tough pass to make, but Webster tried to one hand it w/ his left for some inexplicable reason. The turnover on a misread to Singleton was tough for both parties, but that's what happens when players start one game then get multiple DNPs afterwards, only to pop back up in the 4th Q. That's all Randy there...

I hear you, but I disagree with the turnover part because Wall has made those same mistakes late in the 4th with the game on the line in other games. With me, in these moments it's less about how aggressive or passive he was for 95% of the game and more about him showing that he understands where he made his mistake in past games and saying to himself 'not here, not this time' but it keeps happening in almost identical fashion. Last night when he made the first of the two turnovers I couldn't help but say angrily to myself "every time!!!". Very glad to see his jump shot falling and getting his points as well as getting the teammates easy shots but he has to do something different in those situations, it's like he is subconsciously programmed to give the ball back to the other team in these situations. He must reprogram himself in this area.

I agree completely. This will be one of the bigger jumps in his development if he shows growth in this area IMO.

Chocolate City Jordanaire wrote:On the subject of needing a stretch four, Ryan Kelly might not be awful. Kadji has stats YODA doesn't like, but he looks good to me in round 2. A lot of times, however, guys like these don't make it. (JaJuan Jones of Purdue and Justin Harper out of Richmond are recent examples of guys who seemed like stretch fours in college who haven't made it. Jon Leuer is bouncing around the league, but like Novak I think he's going to find a niche.)

Instead of thinking about spending to get an Ilyasova or Ryan Anderson, I think drafting Kelly Olynyk might not be a bad way to go. I think he's going to be more of a four in the NBA.

Kadji will be 25 in May. To me, that's a hurdle too high to draft him. I'm guessing Olynyk goes around mid 1st - we'd have to trade up to get him unless he measures with t-rex arms. But I don't see him as being quick enough to play the 4, and he's more of an inside scorer than a guy who's going to stretch defenses.

Need more games like that from Wall.

And more losses like that too.

May the tank be with us.
