John's D can be completely stifling. He has the potential to be a faster version of Gary Payton on the defensive side of the court.

Wall has been amazing for three games in a row.

He is coming out on fire on D. He is running over the top of all the picks. He is pushing the pace and getting everyone involved early. Last night was a great example. He only had 2 or 3 shots for most the first half but he was the best player on the floor running the entire show.

But it all goes hand in hand. He has wings getting out and running with him.
He has Gortat and Hump protecting the rim and rebounding.
Hump nailing those mid range shots like a machine.
and its the entire team playing the great system defense

Its a little of everything, but Wall is The Maestro

Agree on this, its how i wanted it from day 1. Gortat/Hump brings rebounding and interior defense. Hump is absolutely automatic most times with that mid range j. The Gortat/Wall pick n roll game is becoming a go to weapon. The offense just flows better with Hump out there, and the rebounding is so much better. We suffer in those regards when Nene is on the floor. Nene backing up Hump and Gortat should be the plan for the foreseeable future regardless of egos.

Wall was the player of the game. He had one of those Rondo statlines and he was dominant on defense. Have to give it to him for that. Next in line is Hump, then the team as a whole.

That sequence of 3 x 3 by Wall to Beal was just BEAUTIFUL

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

I put in a vote for Wittman. Our commitment to defense and consistency have been light years better this year than anything I've seen since I started rooting for theIrs in the 90's
Making extreme statements like "only" sounds like there are "no" Jokics in this draft? Jokic is an engine that was drafted in the 2nd round. Always a chance to see diamond dropped by sloppy burgular after a theft.

I thought Wall played one of his best games of the season, at least during the first half. He carved up the defense and set his teammates up for some of the easiest looks they've had all season. He absolutely shut down Lawson. The part I liked most was that he took just 1 shot in the entire first half (an alley-oop dunk from Beal). Wall looked so genuinely happy to get his teammates involved. It was great.

Pierce comes to this team under EG, because the team looked serious last season. EG is credited with surviving an ownership change and gutting the roster to produce this team. Guys like Crawford, Blatche, Young, and McGee are elsewhere.

This team is grinding in a way that Durant has to notice. The cap looks good under EG.

Lyrical, I am not mad at you. :)

You and milellie111 are suddenly looking smart for supporting this GM.

I'm not the biggest EG fan, he's been for the most part a piss poor drafter, but I've never had the downright hate that some on this board have. Look whether or not some want to admit it, he's been pretty on point with a lot of things the last couple seasons. You guys moaned and groaned about giving up for a pick and Okafor for Gortat, and that trade is looking great at this point. You guys moaned and groaned about trading for Okafor and Ariza, I say again we got the better of that deal. Same with the Nene deal. Same even with the Miller deal. Even with Gooden. I know you guys love to remember the in hindsight awful Rubio for Foye/Miller, but if you have to give the man anything he's pretty damn good at cleaning up messes, even if they happen to be his own.

All that doesn't even account for the brilliant Pierce acquisition or his pretty damn good maneuvering with the short term contracts to give us a legit shot at Durant. Im just sayiinnn….

It was Wall. Completely dominated the Nuggets on both ends of the floor by shutting down Lawson and was in complete control of the offense.

This dude right here was unknown to me apart from his little thing with kimmyK. His game is legitimate??? Where the hell did he come from?

I voted for the team btw.

Also give credit to EG for letting Gil walk eventually and not letting him mess up wall-

I still don't trust randy wit- but it was a good win on a good week
