I don't believe so. When Wall signed his extension in the Summer of 2013, he still had a year left on his rookie deal. The cap number for the 2014/15 season was unknown, so it was understood that his next contract would start at whatever was 25% of that 2014 cap. But once his actual contract got started this year, it remains fixed according to 2014 numbers plus 7.5% raises. It won't continue to get readjusted.
Oh I thought max contracts did get readjusted according to a rising cap to stay the same percentage of it. That's good news then. Means Wall is going to be a huge bargain late in that contract when the cap has increased 45% or more from 63 million.
And IMO it makes KD even more likely to put off a long term extension whether or not they change the max contract rules. If the basketball world knows the cap is going to jump into the 90 million range by either '16 or '17, then it seems to me that's when he's going to want to sign his deal.
If they gradually raise the cap, I seriously think you could see KD sign a 2 year deal with a second year option in 2016 with the intention of negotiating a long term deal in 2017 or whenever the cap starts to top out. Plus if he waits until 2017, he'll be eligible for the 35% max deal.
