Wall can takes a mediocre team and make it a average team. Kyrie can take an elite team to the contender status, that what the difference is between those two. You wouldn't win a championship if Wall is a max player on your team, he's needs the ball to be effective or else he is a 3-D guy without a 3 point shot which is death in the NBA. If you exchange the PG of any elite teams with Wall all of them would be worse it would be the same situation with Rondo in Dallas, because of how little he provides to the team in contrast to his 80 million deal. Kyrie's elite 3 point shot and penetration can help any team regardless who good their are since every team can use an elite 3 point shooter and it's much easier to incorporate into the offence.

The Cavs sucked even with Kyrie and Lebron before they acquired Smith, Mozgov, and Shumpert.

Kyrie is a terrific scorer. Wall is far better defensively and as a distributor.

I disagree with you on Wall making an elite team worse, and I am generally much more critical of Wall than most Wizard fans.

This is an elite post. Question: if a Dr. K makeover can turn an elite non-contender into an elite contender, what might be his effect on non-elite contender teams? Elite contender, elite non-contender, non-elite non-contender, or no change? I think Nivek has a spreadsheet on this.

PS: I wasn't implying above that you were panhandling.

Lmfao. Did you really just compare Wall to Rondo? Rondo tanked Dallas because Rondo f'ing sucks, and he has sucked for a while. He isn't even in the same stratosphere as Wall right now.

Get the f--- out of here with that nonsense.

Edit just to further point out the absurdity of this post. Rondo makes his teams worse because he literally cannot shoot. Like, at all. FT, Mid-Range, 3 pointers, he can't hit the broad side of a f'ing barn, and he's a shell of his former self defensively. Wall can actually shoot. He's been one of the better mid-range shooters in the league this season, and his 3 point shot is serviceable (he's probably going to end up between 30-33% for his career.) Rondo can literally do none of the things that Wall does on a nightly basis. F'in worst post of the year right here.

Thompson is very underrated. His ability to score without dominating the ball would complete Wall.

Exactly.

Middleton, Korver, Klay, Jimmy B, Wesley Matthews would be better fits.

man Im so glad that I haven't been on this board that much lately. Irving is not better then Wall. He is a better scorer/shooter and that is it. He does nothing else even close to as good as Wall. The fortunate thing for Kyrie is that there nothing more sexier in the NBA then scoring. It will make fans overrate you. Im a boxing fan and casual fans all love the big punch KO artist even though they always lose against the more well rounded fighters.

This is all coming from the only guy on the main board who picked Kyrie in the big thread asking who would be the first 50pt scorer this year

What are you all debating? As a semi-neutral observer who just doesn't wamt you stealing KD, Wall is better. Not a question in my mind.

Irving is playing some great ball- he just went 12 of 15 from the field and had 33 points and 4 rebounds and 4 assists. With LeBron piling up the assists (13) Irving doesn't need to be much of a distributor. Then again it was the Magic.

Thanks for your 3rd party input.
This is one of the most negative boards on RealGM. Being perpetually terrible will do that to you.

We have the worst GM/HC combo in the NBA. Of course we're negative.

Take away LeBron and Irving will be still the same under .500% Cleveland talented point guard going... nowhere with his team. It's like Melo in the Knicks, who cares if he's scoring 30, 40 or 50 without winning.

No LeBron means, no Cleveland = no Irving ain't better than Wall.

I guess so but then Washington would have the better supporting cast especially since they would have Wiggins instead of Love. In that circumstance I would rather have Wall. But it looks like Irving is playing well with LeBron which isn't always as easy as it seems (see Larry Hughes).
