Good lord what a beautiful pass. Great reaction from Noel too.

Was a nice pass but not extraordinary. What made it look flashy was the totally unnecessary between the legs dribble.

I'm still not sold on who will be better yet.
One guy being good won't make the other guy less good, that's for sure. And in a way it doesn't matter to us -- the only question that really matters is how good Otto can/does become.
That said, I don't know how anyone could miss the fact that Noel is both a better player now and a better prospect going forward -- after all, everyone had him #1 before the injury, and that problem is now way behind him.
He also plays a position it's much harder to fill w/ an excellent guy. He's an enormously valuable asset. How he "fits" on a team w/ Embid doesn't affect that one bit. For one thing, even if they decided they wanted to trade him, he'll be worth a lot. Well... you could even just look at their trade value now, Noel's vs. Porter's; that'd tell you how many people in the league have a different opinion from Hands. Of course, Hands could still be right; all we can talk about is likelihoods.
Anyway, as I said, Otto's future is what's important to us. It was nice to see him have a positive, solid game last night.

To much Apple and Oranges to do a real comparison right now.
Noel - Center ? PF ? Putting up some numbers but on a losing team with little known about who stays for the future. And how will he play when Embiid returns. So for me, these numbers are suspect when compared to Otto's who is earning his numbers in a more legit situation. And with Noel, we don't even know what position he will end up playing. PF for PHI ? Traded and C for another team ?
Otto - SF/SG on playoff team with HOF older SF ahead of him, other vets as back ups, #1 PG coming into his prime year 5, Beal, Gortat and Nene starting and a terrible coach. Because of this, I see Otto's numbers as more legit and meaningful. He really hasn't been given anything. He has had to scratch and claw for all of it.
What their speculated trade value is right now is pretty meaningless. We don't know how GMs would value them and neither is getting traded so we aren't going to know how they are valued right now. Now by the end of next year I think you can fairly value them. Otto should have started for a year and Noel should have played for a year with Embiid at center so we can see how he would fit at PF. And both or either he or Otto could be traded next year so maybe we get to find out their value then. But we aren't going to find out what that is now so you can claim Noel is valued higher if you want, but its pure speculation, not fact.
Noels future is more confusing to me. I'm not going to sell the young man short because by all accounts, he is a hard worker. Can he become a starting PF next to a legit center ? That's a big question still. I expect that would affect his trade value right now.
At least with Otto you know what his position is. Now we need to see if he can grow all those skills he needs to grow in order to be an impact SG/SF. He has a lot of work ahead. But with Otto, he is about to head to the playoffs. Great experience playing in high level meaningful games where anything he produces will be totally legit and meaningful production.
Given no one can get traded right now and that Otto is about to get an opportunity to contribute in the playoffs, valuing them should at least wait until the end of the year. And even then, it should really wait until the end of next year.
Just very Apples and Oranges with these two. Different situations. Different positions. And teams in very different situations.
