Clos brought up the current "blow up the team" topic. Ruzious said "no, wait a year -- then do it if it's necessary." I sided w/ Clos and suggested that John Wall has maximum value right now (he is in his peak years and has 3 more seasons under current contract which looks underpaid in the new cap world), hence now would be the right time to trade him.
Obviously, it's not going to happen -- Ernie doesn't admit failure... ever! Now, if he were gone, that might be different.

Well looks like were are pretty much close to done. As CCJ said, we pretty much have to win out and even still we might be out by a game. Detroit has really ramped it up winning 6 of 7 with a big win versus OKC last night and Indy owns our tie-breaker. Too many injuries, too many bad loses against bad teams, and our defense fell off the face of the planet. I don't see how we make it without some big help from Miami, specifically versus Detroit, and us going for the sweep of Detroit on their home floor.

Who cares? Do you guys really want to watch us get swept by the Cavs? That team is hateable enough.

I think what they're really upset about is that EG and Witt probably won't get long extensions.
No, I don't mean hair - though EG with a pony tail...

Curry and Thompson are obviously in a different tier than Beal and Wall, but when you look at the two teams the difference can pretty much be summed up by what they've done with the draft and player acquisition and how they've handled themselves as a franchise.
The GM situation, coaching, owernship, the collapse from playoff team to lottery, the parallels between the two franchises are pretty remarkable.
The joke about the Warriors around here used to be Wizards west, but when you look at how the teams have handled themselves since it's more like the Wizards are the bizarro version of the Warriors now.
Where a GM change coincided with change of ownership over there, the Wizards inexplicably stuck with their man facing the same contractual situation and ownership change as the Warriors then.
Coaching, Warriors had no problem axing a guy despite a playoff run over concerns of fit and chemistry, whereas Leonsis didn't even bother to interview other candidates, handing the job to a guy that wouldn't even be considered for a head coaching gig anywhere else in the league.
It's not even worth revisiting the draft track record, but it's pretty obvious about now that just like for Golden State, there was a championship contender somewhere in all of those wasted Wizards draft picks.
One team is chasing history, the other is slowly but surely inching closer towards irrelevance, entirely self inflicted I might add.

Last night's game was pretty crummy. Both teams played poorly; the Wizards were worse. Green was the most productive player for Golden State. When Wall plays as well as Curry did last night, folks start the "top 5 PG" talk. For Curry, it was a bad game. His PPA for the game was 210 -- his season average entering the game was 321. Barnes rated above average (a little).
For the Wizards, Gortat was the only regular whose performance rated average or better. After him, Porter was the least horrific starter -- both Morris and Beal rated as net negatives; Wall rated below replacement level. Nenê: awful. Same for Sessions, Thornton and Temple. Dudley wasn't very good, but wasn't totally awful. Hickson and Oubre were good in garbage time.

Top 5 is different than #1. Alot of #4&5 SG's in the 90's weren't MJ by far but it still doesn't mean that they weren't #5

Hot take: Golden State being historically good played a role in the Wizards not playing well last night.

Hmm, doesn't sound entirely crazy.
