Well that about face proves they read the Wiz board. They saw this thread and said, "Holy ****, we might lose ten TV watchers and THREE season ticket holders!" That's the power of the 1st Amendment!

The six O's in Noah spoke volumes no doubt.

The takeaway for me is that key aspects of EG's management style: Panicking and overpaying, made this rumor believable and worthy of running it as true.

It wasn't believable though. And that reporter lost any credibility he might have had by writing it.

Obviously, since the Wizards have absolutely no good news to announce, they fabricated the rumor to create some. Yes, it is good news that we will not offer a Max contract o Noah.

Now... would it be possible to create some other good news? Some news that actually does something to build this team?

Good point, addition by subtraction. When the season starts, we can look back at has beens, never wases, locker rom cancers, etc. they could have signed but didn't. Rather than focusing on the bad moves they made, maybe we should think about the bad moves they didn't make.

Wow, I feel better already. Things are really looking up.

Yeah, I think the Wiz spread this rumor so later on when they do make a sh*tty move we'll all be like "yeah, but at least we didn't give Noah the max"

The Wiz did not spread this rumor, why? Cause they nailed Grunfeld's panicking and overpaying (not something Ernie would call himself out on) Most-likely it was another team that is also interested in Noah.

Sounds like something spread by Noah's agent trying to build interest in his client.

This would've been the last season we watched Wall in a wizard uniform if it happened. He'd ask for a trade

Cavs fan here...I truly hope this doesnt happen just because of how awful this deal would be for you guys. I remember watching Noah last year and thinking "Man this guy is so done. His knees are bad and he's lost a step. And man hes a guy whos game is based around hustle and out working his opponent. I would only want him on a vet min deal" and then I see this article and almost spit out my drink. You guys deserve a new GM sooo badly.

This floated rumor (which is still up) shows you what other GM's/agents really think about EG.

It was either Noahs agent or another gm who is interested in KD.

EG is the Sun Tzu of GMs. By floating this rumor, other GMs dismiss him as a threat while KD thinks, "How will they be able to sign me?" By the time the rumor proves untrue, it's too late for rival GMs to re-strategize, as EG swoops in and signs a much relieved KD, who can finally realize his repeatedly stated desire to "come home and finish what he started." In the mental game, EG always pays to march to a different piper and drummer synth combo. He's like the Zen master, only it's Tao, not Zen.
