Much rather have Nate Wolters than Trey Burke, but I doubt it's happening. Summer League signing.

But we have D.J. Cooper, which I am actually really happy with and think he could make the team, he has been playing well in euro ball.

Word! What a shame, Ernie has zero interest in finding a hidden gem. Load-up on vets then chill, that's Ernie.

Not defending Ernie, never would. But how is Nate more of a hidden gem than Burke. Both drafted in the same year. Burke had lottery pick talent but has underachieved, yet he's done far more than Wolters has. Maybe your point isn't specific to Wolters, in which case I generally agree.

Re: CCJ!!!! NATE WOLTERS!
So why is Nate Wolters playing overseas if he's such a hidden gem?

Hassan Whiteside was drafted in the 2nd round, was cut, and played overseas. "Hidden gem" means the gem is hidden, not drafted #9 and handed the starting PG position. You have to search for it. If the worth is readily apparent, it isn't hidden.

Trey Burke's talent is readily apparent either according to Jazz fans.

Yeah, high first round picks are usually given a lot of chances from the start and, good or bad, it's usually established up front. 2nd rounders and FAs can slip through, developing later or just not getting a chance. I'm not saying I think Wolters will make it, but he seems like the kind of player that might be worth a look, with little risk or outlay.
I wish the Wizards had a GM who did more of that leave-no-stone-unturned approach to searching for talent.
