They haven't been able to defend in Boston. Last night was one of the worst played basketball games of all time. They have to play 100x better to have a chance in game 7.

A lights out 3 point shooting night from the entire team would be nice.

You should watch WallCenter this morning Nat....oh I mean sportcenter. Cause Wall iz all ova it! No player is perfect...Our leader had 23 in the second half, 2 critical blocks and the DAGGER- I dont need Wall or Beal or Morris to play better....I need Gortat to dunk it, Otto to make an open shot and the bench to hold serve... We need Wall to keep shooting cause who knows...that next shot/last shot might win the game....who knew?

Like you said earlier...Wiz in 7!

To Game 7 we go

More like extremely fouled. Bradley made full body contact with Wall on that contest.

Yep, should have been an AND1

What a great 4th quarter & what a great win.

People criticizing Gortat's play last night make me think they don't understand much about basketball. Ditto Porter.

Think about this: we won by 1 point -- & that is even though we got to take 7 more shots than Boston & 3 more FTAs as well.

How come we got so many more scoring opportunities?

Because we absolutely killed them on the boards -- especially offensive rebounding -- & that was mostly Gortat & Porter. In 61 combined minutes, they got as many offensive rebounds as the whole Celtics team got in their 240 minutes. Beal & Morris helped as well.

In a way, our defensive rebounding was even more impressive. Boston missed 37 shots & 2 FTAs, & we got 35 defensive rebounds! OTOH, we missed 49 shots & 8 FTAs. Yet they only got 30 defensive rebounds.

Of course we need the hero shot to pull out the victory -- & what a great shot it was! -- but without the absolute rebounding domination of our front court over theirs, it isn't even a close game. Overall, our front court out-boarded theirs by a dozen or more rebounds.

Great points...my thought is.

When Porter and Gortat stop scoring it puts too much pressure on the rest of the guys to score.

Otto-
No one ever says Otto doesnt appear to try hard. It just feels like he doesnt make as many of those wide Open 3s as he did in the reg season. We all see his Defense and His Rebounding. The Celtics are not trying to get IT switched onto Otto on defense or offense anymore...now they switching to get Morris- Win Wiz. You have to admit there are times on the offense when he appears to get lost. You cant say thats on Wall Beal or even Jennings...Otto is touching the ball.

Gortat-
I am not seeing what you seeing with Gortat- Gortat isnt making the right shot selection at the rim. The 7 footer taking a 4 foot jumper while you have a 6'7" guy in front of you. Taping the ball up at the rim from 20" is maddening...when he misses. There was only one game where he went HARD and DUNKED It and the whole bar, Verizon center and the wiz bench were like YESSSS- they celtics are playing small so the 7' guy has to play BIG. Once again...no one is questioning Gortats heart. Marcin is big time and he always rises to the challenge. Game 7 = challenge.

Thanks for the education...

Gortat was fantastic. One of his best plays this season was him tipping it twice to himself and finally tipping it into a back-court after a Wall free throw miss, we ended up with a 3 point possession.

Beal and Otto need to shoot the ball well, Beal shooting 26% from 3 this series, Otto shooting 21% from 3 this series, it's that scary bad. Heck, Otto has made 4 threes this entire series.

There is no chance you win that game in Boston without both of them getting hot. You know for sure Crowder shoots better at home, and their bench full of shooters went 0-8 from 3 collectively last night (all wide open).

For a very brief moment, I saw shades of Rodman, Jordan, Pip, and the old Bulls (no, we are NOT the Bulls. Not in any way, shape, or form), where Gortat, Morris, and Porter would simply tip the ball up in the air, or out to the perimeter, just keeping it alive for one of their teammates to grab the rebound. They were taking advantage of their overall height advantage, and the fact that the Celtics were crowding the paint. This was a good adjustment.

I think Porter was alright defensively and on the boards on both ends. But most likely in game 7 he is going to have to play better. Because I don't think Boston's bench is only going to score 5 points.

Gortat was really killing it on the boards 13 rebounds in 25 minutes.

Yeah big props to him for bouncing back in that game like that, but let's be serious, role players will not decide this game.

John Wall will decide this game. He's gotta play like he did in Atlanta game 6 to give us a chance. It's going to be an extremely tough game.

But yeah, we are winning that game. Put that on everything.

Don't know if it's been mentioned here: The loudest cheers of the night--other than after JWall's 3--was when they put on the Jumbotron with a few minutes left in the game this rah-rah by Phil Chenier talking about how we're "one family" no matter where we're from in the DMV and how it was time to get loud for the home team. Great moment.

Phil was in the crowd and they put the camera on him after the video--to even more loud cheers.

Wall has arrived at Superstardom, but really has to close out the series to cinch it. What a great great ending!

My wife and I are in Minnesota this weekend. This evening we were walking past a playground in Saint Paul, where some 10-12 year old kids were playing basketball. One kid was driving to the basket, and yelled "I wanna be John Wall."
