Merry Christmas

When the Wizards use all their players like they did today against New Orleans they are actually a pretty good team.

Balance

Frontcourt players contributed mightily. The minutes were evenly distributed, and so were the shots.

The game against the Pelicans is exactly what I meant by Gaussian distribution of minutes--it is entirely possible even feasible that 10 players play each game. A couple of them may only two to five minutes; but, the nexus should be around the 20s for most. Once Wall and Beal only averaged about 34 minutes this team will be better.

I hate to keep repeating myself but Merry Christmas to Scott Brooks. I am glad to see him do well.

Christmas Gift # 10

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2749054-unknown-superstar-fletcher-magee-is-most-unstoppable-lethal-shooter-in-cbb

The first place most of you have heard this name is right here.

Fletcher Magee

When a team like Wofford beats Georgia Tech and beats North Carolina you have to ask yourself how is that possible. Read that article and understand this guy plays pick up against pros and he is currently the best shooter NCAA shooter.

https://youtu.be/CVuZPhtOA9s

Right now the best shooter ever... Better than Buddy Hield. Better than Doug McDermott. Better than Steph Curry. Sheer volume of made threes is what separates Magee. His name is just two names down from Trae Young (who at this time I predict will eventually become an NBA Hall of Fame player, barring injury. He's Steph Curry + Nate Archibald.) in terms of NCAA scorers. FM is number three in the nation.

Fletcher Magee is Christmas gift number 10.

CCJ, most days lately working so much I can only follow game score on phone, and the rare times I can watch part of a game (usually 4th quarter, while working) it's always a loss. But I'm a Wizards fan, I'm used to that. Here on the board is chronicled the quotidian misery, calloused numbness, blasé realism, or even glimmers of hope (if only someone from this board was calling some of the shots). Mostly, it makes me laugh. Even STD.

CCJ, joining others in thanking you for this thread. Got like a day to get my Xmas act together, but I hope to have more time to participate here more actively in the new year. In the meantime, just a quick glance through a couple of threads made my morning. Carry on friends, and Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, or however you celebrate or don't celebrate this time of year!

Yeah!

It's been a bad year in many ways (or so most of us think, nate :) ), but it's been a good year on the Wizards Board here at RealGM.

Celebrate -- light in the darkest part of the year, renewal, salvatio mundi, whatever plugs the hole in the boat! But celebrate safely, please.

As to the frustrations visited on us by the nitwits paid to play pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey in the Wizards FO... -- we're tough. We can take it!!

I was starting to worry about you. Knowing that you're working hard means that you're working hard to help others. Wonderful.

Merry Christmas!

(I will PM you before the new year)

I have a lot of different ideas about numbers 11 and 12.

Kind of want to come up with something unique. Because of that I'm just going to put one out there that's not even a gift.

Jevon Carter

No brainer second round pick. Very good defender, but not much of an athlete in the next level.

Got to find something a little bit better than that though because everybody knows about him...

Carter looks tremendous on youtube, & his numbers this year are unbelievable. His athleticism looks adequate to me -- in particular he looks extremely strong. Reminds me of Vinnie Johnson.

He must be leading the world in steals.

Fletcher Magee....

This kid does nothing except shoot. But... his shooting is unbelievable!

He is 100% from the FT line this year. Of course, that's not sustainable, right? He might fall all the way to 90.1% (all last season) or maybe only to 94.3% (season before last)!!!

His TS% is .73

Like I say, he doesn't do anything else (rebounding, assists, steals, etc. all very low). Still....

Thanks, and the same to you. And yes, all is well. Three days in a row of no work! Hopefully the same next weekend! And a riotous family gathering tomorrow too. I hope I get to sit at the kids' table.

Hoping for a turnaround in the fortunes of the Wizards since you have a team that is capable of being in the top 4 in the East. Early in the year I felt the Wiz and Raptors could be fighting it out for 1st in the East. Now it is more difficult but you still have a genuine chance at 4th place.

We’re glad you’re here Cammac. Your insight is very much appreciated. And we love all things Canadian (esp health care and poutine) except when we play the Raptors.

Happy merry kwanzchristnukah!
