How about calling the phenomenon "Hudsanity"?
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

Posted on Feb 2 in the KS thread.

I think if Seraphin got 20+ minutes consistently for a few months his WTF plays will go way down and people will realize that he actually already has pretty good skills. He just needs to chance to use them and build up his confidence.

Specifically following this last stretch I was looking for my read on Kevin Seraphin. Still haven't unearthed my earliest, and I wasn't the first (Surfman gets the credit, but her rarely posts here), but I came upon this early read of a board fave:

Trevor Booker is a candidate to be a 'CCJ-special'. Overlooked due to underheight, but somehow manages to simply get it done due to outsized effort and ferocity. Good defense despite the undersized frame. Active, scrappy, tough. If past is preview he'll likely be available late, possibly with a high round 2 pick, since he tends to play a low-post game in college, even though he's shown a bit of range to suggest he'll transition okay to an Artest-lite SF. This is your early candidate for a Craig Smith, Carl Landry, Chuck Hayes-type player -- if not Millsapp/Blair. Productive but non-dominant at the next level. He's not a fatty either which weighs against him on the likely-CCJ-favorite scale...

Early counts for some points but so does consistency. I don't want to see people bragging in here just because they posted early if at the same time they feel off the wagon and starting flame posting about how someone sucked and they need to get shipped out.

I'm not saying you did that Doc, just a general statement.

Yeah it's not me. I'm the guy still saying Dray Blatche still has a chance to turn it around. I rarely rip a Wizard until after they're gone, and even then, if they did well for us and didn't cheat the effort I'm in their corner, even certified nutjobs like DSteve.

I predicted Obama would one day be president when he was just a little kid praying in a small mosque in Kenya.

I did fall off the wagon sometime later, but hey, I had a good time.

A agree Dray could still be a productive player. Mostly his problem was being out of shape. Well, that and to much clubbing. If he gets that squared away, he can be good. Not sure that would be as a starter at this point. Not on a good team at least.

But at this point, even if he is better, its getting harder and harder to see how he fits here longer term. Not at his salary. Not as a back up. And beyond his game, his personality doesnt fit here anymore now that Gil, Nick and McGee are gone. Even if he changes his ways, a party strip club kind of guy doesn't fit with Nene, KS, Booker, Ves, Wall, etc. This is a more serious group of players we have now.

All that said, he could serve well as a vet back up C/PF for part of a year or a year if the team is good enough to make a playoff run. I think the roster is that good or really close to that good. If they weren't tanking and Nene and Booker were out there, I think they could win a lot of games with what they have as of today. Well, if they keep Randy and this style of play. Defense, up tempo and inside out offense with great passing. They just need some back up PG help.

I was right about the important role that the D-League would play with NBA teams and the NBA itself. Portland being the latest team to aquire it's -own NBDL affiliate.

Funny what's revealed when an old thread gets bumped. Wonder what Dray is doing now? Aside from playing in China, he's naturalized as a Philipino citizen & is playing for their national team:

O Captain! My captain!

Blatche's extension still ranks up there with one of Grunfeld's biggest blunders.
