Guys who play professional basketball are far more likely to suffer injuries to pretty much everywhere, including thumbs. There are all kinds of injuries and trying to predict what it's going to be is like trying to predict the weather: yes, there will be weather but what kind? Thomas might recover and stay healthy this season but anyone who believes it's a reasonably likely outcome is kidding themselves.

It's true, as guys age their thumbs start to go.

& it's not just athletes, btw. I mean... how often do you see an old guy on the road hitchhiking? Am I right?

Yeah...I don't think a thumb injury is something that happen to athletes because their bodies are worn down. Stuff like that can happen at any age. It's a fluke injury.

IT is 30. He'll be fine...as long as his hip doesn't continue to be a problem.
