If he were a better coach he Could’ve designed Something to get Bertans a clean look. Very simple: take Westbrook out of the game put-ish Smith in the game tell ISH to penetrate and kick it back out to wide-open Bertans Bertans.

Brad Stevens is so much better.

If Brad Stevens is a good coach, he'd tell his players to never lease Bertans under any circumstances. Instead help off Hutchinson/Hachimura or live with the Ish drive.

Westbrook vs Embiid is top notch also. We can beat them

After watching this game youre confident we can make it out the play in? Nothing about what I saw tonight makes me think we will beat Indiana. It’s extremely tough to beat a team 3 straight times

I believe that the longer you stretch things out, the odds will even out. Russ and Brad are due to breakout for a good stretch and at the same time

The Kwame Brown video had more excitement than this one.

Defensively, he allowed Boston's only consistent weapon to go off for 50 points by defending him with Beal, Westbrook, Ish Smith and Neto. All 6-8 inches shorter. Offensively, you are right. Not his fault. But part of the Wiz' recent success has been due to their defense and pace. When they get stops, they go out and get easy transition baskets.

Who was he going to put on Tatum? Bonga is terrible. Gill... not a defensive stopper. Rui was in foul trouble. Wiz could have still beat Celtics with Tatum getting his. But they also let Kemba go off too. I agree on wiz recent divers on defensive end but we don’t exactly have a 6’8” defensive stopper on this team.

Try something. Anybody but 6-3 Beal and 6-3 Westbrook and 6-1 Neto and 6-1 Ish. He had Bertans on him at the end. He's terrible defensively, but at least he has some size at 6-10 so he can't just shoot his turnaround jumper over him from the post. Agree that we don't have a good big wing defender. Closest was Deni and he's gone. But good coaches find a way to not let one Mfer go off for 50 points in the most important game in the season. You deny him the ball. Do something other than put tiny guys on him.

And I didn't suggest Bonga. I would rather stay with Hutchison on him. I know he got killed in the PNR in the first half, but he's at least serviceable and has size.

What he could’ve tried is a guy name Anthony Gill another guy name Isaac Bonga. The problem is he’s just a guy that TD payed $7 million a year to be incapable of any type of thinking outside of the box.

If a guy like Tatum goes off you have to start FOULING/blitzing/doubling him Physically and making him EARN his points at the free-throw line. Where was a flagrant one? Why didn’t he even think of using each of his players? Because he is absolutely limited in his thought capacity in my opinion.

There were many things that were not even tried that might have worked.

When my posts do not make sense it is because the algorithm in my talk to text corrects my sentences because it is thinking for me. Very scary **** technology. It will actually post edit after reading what you have already posted. AutoCorrect it into a mistake.

Brooks did not coach well at all. That is nothing new.

EDITED: You cannot say a guy is terrible and never even give him a chance to play. Chicago thought Gafford was terrible.

The bullets or wizards THOUGHT Ben Wallace is terrible.

Bonga AND Gill Could have fouled Jayson Tatum 12 times. But we don’t have a coach that thinks like that.

Problem was that the team fell apart in the 2nd half. Both Beal and Westbrook had very good 1st halfs. Boston made adjustments at the half, and Washington had zero answers. If not for Ish's uncharacteristic individual efforts, the Wiz would have lost by 30. There was a dramatic difference in coaching. .

Make that "fell apart with 1 minute left in the first half."

We were up by 8, & I was thinking, "just push this up into double digits & they'll start to get down on themselves...." Instead, we gave back 6 points of the lead.

100% agree. The team fell apart.

The coach allowed the first half to dictate how the second half was going to go to some extent.

Why was Gafford on the court to get that third foul in the first quarter? Did Brooks decide Alex was just not going to play at all in the second half and if so why?

They fell apart when the physical big man was not in the game which was the stupidest thing on earth. Brad Stevens complemented our centers but Scott Brooks didn’t even put one of them back in the game because he’s just not a good coach in my opinion.

This game Tristan Thompson manhandled Daniel Gafford.

Refs allowed it PLUS they called ticky tack bs on Daniel.

A better coach might’ve thought of putting Gil at center. Or Hachimura at center. Or big ass Alex in there to foul hard on purpose at center. But we don’t have a better coach This coach is so dense that he did not realize that the referees were not going to let Gafford or any other wizard dominate this game.

Leaving it to Russell and Bradley is a recipe for disaster and that is exactly what happened the second half.

When everything is going to be a foul that is when you put all your goons in the game at the same time.

Tatum was 2/8 in the first quarter. 23 points in the 3rd with Beal and Ish guarding him. Reffing was bad. Although if we actually wanted to win a playoff series, this was the only way. 0% chance they beat the Nets. 5% chance they beat the Sixers, if they make it.
Brooks is gone regardless if they make a run. The Capitals didn't bring back their Stanley cup winning coach. Re negotiating contracts is hostile.

Ahh, and this is where the Wizards fall-short, the play-offs are about grinding trench warfare and tightened defense, teams with superior athleticism and strength are going to beat the finesse teams every time unless the shooting is on-fire.
