One to two shooters. Sub par defending at three positions. No rim protection.
No plays called.
It’s ALL on Brooks.
I'll give you that Brooks can be better at play-calling down the stretch, but it's a bit hyperbole the other things. The "Sub-par" defenders I assume you are saying are Smith, Neto, and Bertans? It's not like Matthews or Rui are world-beater defenders off the bench so hard to fix that. And Len is an above average rim protector by the eye test & statistically. Better than Lopez & a bit worse than Gafford if you're purely talking shot-blocking.
Seems to me the main legit criticism could be Brooks giving Westbrook too much control down the stretch of games? In terms of "play calling" for this team, I get the sense Westbrook is given a lot of reign to make things up on the fly as the PG. That dynamic may be a fair criticism but given how well it's worked lately, it's a tough critique right now I think.
I just thinking fighting tooth & nail with the Hawks on the road in 2 straight games without Beal - it's tough to really blame Brooks too much for the outcome.
