Ah, I looked for that but couldn't find it... then:

Code: Select all

Westbrook   Neto
Beal        Mathews
Avdija      Hutchinson
Rui         Bertans
Gafford     Bryant     Len

Still means BPA and not for "need".

Yeah, Hutchison is guaranteed.

I would hope that in the draft it is always BPA & never anything else. Otherwise, you've added a less good player than you could have, & you've left a better player than you should have for your competition to take.

IMO, use trades to balance your roster. If you don't want to take the bpa, b/c there's a position of need -- then trade down in the draft!

Agreed. It just doesn't seem like this isn't how it always (maybe even usually) plays out.

I guess my point is with Gafford stepping up we don't have to stretch for any position now. And yes, I am (fan)atically high on Gafford right now :D.

I think we would both agree that for this to work out, Avdija, Gafford and Rui need to take jumps (I guess Mathews & Bryant as well). We aren't that young but we do have youngsters (especially adding our R1 pick (and a R2 pick like you suggested). Given Bonga's age, I would hope we would try to keep him as well.

Code: Select all

Deni Avdija          20
Isaac Bonga          21
Rui Hachimura        22
Daniel Gafford       22
Thomas Bryant        23
Chandler Hutchison   24
Garrison Mathews     24

My main concern is wings at MLE or part of it...

Yup. https://basketball.realgm.com/player/Chandler-Hutchison/Summary/80965#:~:text=Mar%2025%2C%202021%20-%20Chandler%20Hutchison%20was%20acquired,assigned%20Chandler%20Hutchison%20to%20the%20Windy%20City%20Bulls.

Dec 19, 2020 - The Chicago Bulls exercised their Team Option to extend the contract of Chandler Hutchison.
