Considering our lack of youth and athleticism in the front court, his acquisition would have made a ton of sense. I was mixed on him in last years draft but I thought he was worth a 2nd round pick and Philly simply didn't have the room on their roster this year to keep him with Simmons, Saric, Holmes & Landry all capable as 4s.
Agreed -- I didn't like him in the draft last year (though certainly a better R2 pick for us than White), but he has looked very very good.
Hey payit!
Correct! He would have been a terrific grab in R2 -- obviously! -- but, I didn't want to spend our R1 on him.
Then, clearly, he was on your radar a year later, more than on mine, & in fact your post above might have been what got me to go back & take a look at him.
It would really be interesting to see what either of us said about him in comments on the 2015 draft. For example, right after we picked Aaron White at #49.
Or, once the draft was over & he was still available, did either of us say, "let's go get Christian Wood..."? If you did, & I failed to agree with you explicitly that's a definitive feather in your cap.
