Totally correct -- Medium was founded by Ev Williams, a guy I met a bunch of times back in the day. Ev also founded Blogger
& Twitter, btw.
But, it's not a "forum;" there were plenty of those available from the early days of the Internet. It's a quite powerful publishing platform, & it's widely used by people who write with a lot of knowledge & seriousness.
That doesn't make Brandon Anderson right about the 2021 draft, of course. But, your comment makes it seem as if something being published on Medium means it can be ignored. No, worse -- as if the fact that Brandon Anderson wrote a negative assessment of our draft on Medium means that he is wrong.
I don't know the guy or who he is; I don't care about him either But, he does seem to have written extensively about several drafts in a row, & he mentions having "watched hundreds of hours of film and taken 100,000+ words of notes on these guys." So I don't think we can presume to class him among those who don't "know what they talking about or have any background/expertise..." -- at least not without citing a reason to come to that conclusion. & I'm pretty sure the reason can't be that he doesn't like our draft!

Still, I don't know whether he's wrong or right about the 2021 draft or our part in it or any other team's part either. No one can know that yet. He makes that exact point, in fact, right at the start of his piece.
Then, there's what he says about our draft, which I put here in case your dismissive comment makes people avoid reading it:
"28. Washington Wizards...
"I’ve ranted enough about Corey Kispert. I didn’t have him in my first round at all, and I hate his fit here. Of all the teams in the league to not need a spot-up two, this is it. Bradley Beal will play every possible minute at Kispert’s position, and Davis Bertans is an expensive, taller version of Kispert already on the roster. Just a terrible fit and exactly the sort of dumb pick the Wizards make every year. God bless the Wizards.
"It’s hard to offload Westbrook’s contract for positive value, net a 1st, and still end up as a bottom-3 draft, but here we are. The #22 pick is the only real value Washington got for Russ, so naturally, they immediately traded it for a 2 and one year of Aaron Holiday to be the league’s worst starting point guard.
"Trading Westbrook was great. Washington should’ve traded Beal too. They could’ve maybe left Draft Day with Ben Simmons or a monster Golden State package. They might have left the day with Wiseman, Kuminga, Moody, Jackson, and real hope for the future. Instead, they have Corey Kispert."
&, for the record, here's what he has to say about both Kispert & Todd on his "big board:"
TIER VI — HIGH-END SECOND ROUNDERS
...34. SG9 Corey Kispert, Gonzaga...
...then there’s Corey Kispert. Honestly, what are we doing? How are we still slotting one-dimensional unathletic seniors into the lottery with a straight face? I’m well aware Kispert can shoot the lights out, and I’m sure he’ll have fun in a 3-Point Shootout someday. Every NBA team needs shooting. Every NBA team does not need “shooters” though. They need good players who also shoot well. Kispert can’t shoot from the bench, and if he’s not athletic enough to defend or do much else, I just don’t see why he should be anywhere even remotely near the lottery.
37. PF8 Isaiah Todd, G League Ignite
Todd and Greg Brown are ...the upside guys in this tier but feel like long shots to over get there. ...Todd has an NBA body and the faint outline of a game. Both of them are miles away from contributing but have an avenue to get there.
Hope his assessments are off!
