They shot 29-29 FTs
Wizards shot 16-16

Trae Young got 11 FTAs
Beal had 1 FTA on 21 FGAs. Brad was 3-11 from 3pt.

Your boy Jalen Smith didn't get extended. Should we pick him up?

It frustrates me that so many Maryland players leave early and then this happens.

Yes, even if it looks like I'm wrong.

They haven't waived him. He's not a free agent until the season. Ends.

Diamond Stone was the worst.

Years back there was another good big man, Jordan Williams, who left early and failed big-time.

I like Jalen Smith a lot better than Todd. I wonder if they would take a 1 for 1 swap.

Then our O totally stunk coming out after halftime.

ATL deserves some credit, they played good D.

It was probably too much to expect for us to start the season beating them
and BOS both 2x. ATL played a solid game. We did not play very well.

I don't get it. What's wrong with that comment? You hate Beal so much that you don't realize he hit his last five shots.

No, Kutcher's response was pretty on point.

My comment had nothing to do with Beal but about Kutcher’s answer, pretty funny

Beal has redeemed himself towards the end of the half. Keep doing it Brad. Long overdue!

Beal is frustrating. He's never been a very good 3 pt shooter but he seems to want to
prove he is...lack of self awareness. In many of these games it seems as though he only
hurts the team by shooting so many 3s mostly because he's been money from closer in.
KCP should be shooting more of those 3s.

Re Consor, I'm going to sound horribly old fashioned and prudish but I find
his habit of talking about 'onions' a little tiresome. He means balls of course.
But you can't say that on TV. But everyone knows that what he's saying.
I bet if he thought about it, he could come up with a different expression
that would convey what he's trying to say. Talking about having balls is
an example of toxic masculinity.

My fault. I rarely pay attention to what Kutcher says.

A very smart thing to do…honestly our TV crew is truly bottom of the league. Bring back Buck and Phil!!

Bring back James Brown! (showing my age). Too bad Kara Lawson got away too.

Seems to me our O would be improved by a slightly more even distribution of shots
to guys like Deni and especially KCP.

I like what I am seeing from Deni so far this season. I think it bodes well for
him both this year and beyond.

It did, but more so what caught up to us is Dinwiddie and Beal not setting the energy for the game. Dinwiddie and Beal can make 3's but they are not Klay and Steph. They should be playing inside to outside. Their ability to get to the hoop and draw fouls is their best skill. So when they settle for jumpers everything else falls apart. I also don't like how Trez was barely involved in the offense.

I don't like that KCP gets so few shots. Optimistically, maybe when Rui comes back, KCP will be
moved to more SG and Beal will play a little less. Could be benefits all around with that.

Poor JB had to work Bullets games with now Yankees broadcaster John Sterling - who was just awful for the Bullets. JB was cringing while Sterling would say "This is John and James with the Bullets games" every time they'd come back on air - as if it was some clever new thing he thought up every single time.

Gotta say - I like Consor as a guy - but he's really hard to listen to on TV with his observations that sound like they came out of the 1970's.

I like Consor as a guy as well. He was really nice to my son when he was younger.

Agreed. Having the trust of Wes should do wonders for Deni.

Deni keeps this up I wouldn't be surprised if Unseld didn't give Avdija another shot with the starters.

The Wizards would do well getting KCP involved more in the offense and I don't think it's going to happen playing alongside Dinwiddie and Beal.

Very good point. KCP is hindered playing next to Dinwiddie and Beal and would have a much greater usage playing with the 2nd unit. When Rui is back, then KCP should go to the bench so we have the following two units:

Dinwiddie/Beal/Rui/Kuzma/Gafford
Neto or Holiday (NOT both!)/KCP/Deni/Bertans or Kispert/Harrell

Deni would make sense with the 2nd unit alongside KCP so he can have a greater on-ball role.

I think Deni has the chance to push Bertans out the rotation completely over this next week or so.

Has to build off last night but if he’s defending 3s/4s and knocking down open shots there’s absolutely no reason for Bertans to see the court.
