Russ is a total enigma. Absolute first ballot HOFer but a player often as capable
of losing you games as he is of winning you games. And (or but) a great player should
have more self awareness, and coachability frankly, to stop doing the things
he does to lose games. This was such a great trade for us.

Remember the game last year against the Raptors where we were up about 20 in the second half with Beal out, and then Russ started bricking shots? I've never seen a player single-handedly blow a 20 point lead before, but he did it! He just kept taking every single shot and missing or turning it over until the Raptors came all the way back and eventually won. I was completely losing my mind...
But to your point---Scotty just sat there and let him do it. Never said a word, never took him out. Just sat and looked on like he was a fan who had paid for a front row seat.
If you have Russ on your team, you need a coach who is strong enough to at least try to coach him. Somebody like Pops or Thibbs. I don't know if Vogel is up to the task, but then again Lebron is really the coach of that team at this point, so maybe it can work...
Anyway, so relieved he is not our problem any more!

He has such total confidence in his abilities that he becomes
determined to do things which are completely ill advised in that moment.
Determination can be a two edged sword when paired
with a complete lack of awareness.

Brutal game for Westbrook - 1 for 13 shooting. 6 to's to match his 6 assists. It looks like LA benched their starters, because they were so bad in the 1st and 3rd quarters. Doumbouya had a great 8 minutes - he and Huff (his 1st game) both had a +17 in just 8 minutes. Monk's their only guard who can shoot - they need him to be consistent.

Russ made me appreciate John Wall's basketball IQ and ability to control pace... Russ has none of that. He's just an out of control ball of energy that constantly attacks and hopes for the best. I don't blame KD for leaving OKC. Russ is amazing to watch when he's on but he's a tough cat to win a championship with. He wastes so many possessions and seems to have thing for blowing late game defensive assignments by ball watching.

On the flip side, Dinwiddie is averaging 21 points 7 assists 6 rebounds and only 2 turnovers per36 and doing it efficiently with a 56% TS. He’s been one of the best point guards in the league this year.

It was fairly predictable that Westbrook would struggle without LeBron given the Wizards record without Beal this season. But yeah the losses to the Thunder were absolutely terrible but we have seen Westbrook start off the last few seasons slow and pick it up later.
That being said, the Lakers are still 4-2 with LeBron with losses to the Suns and Warriors.
