The Kings or Pistons reaching for Daniels would be wild.

Not sure how much weight to put in a mock that says stuff like this.

...is a nimble power forward who is comfortable shooting from the outside and guarding players at any position. Assuming he improves on the 29.6% 3-point mark he posted

Kenny Lofton Jr. has Hot Plate Williams/Zion written all over him, butterball Centers usually end-up late 1st round/early 2nd round picks.

Daniels might go to San Antonio but I still have trouble seeing him go higher than that. His shot was going in but it is SLOW for a lead guard, and he has to reset his feet and dip before he shoots it. He’s not going to be a lead guard on day 1 offensively.

Yes. Quite impressive. It would be a great get if we traded down and got two 1st round picks…

Agreed. Realistically, San Antonio is the main threat to select Daniels before 10.

I think it’s likely at least one of Eason, Sochan, Duren, Davis, or Mark Williams goes 5-9…San Antonio may prefer one of these guys to Daniels…who knows?

There is a whole lot of buzz about Jalen Williams. He was originally mocked at a 2nd rounder but posted insane combine numbers and impressed everyone in the scrimmages. The dude is 6-5.75" in shoes with a 7-2.25" wingspan! :o He also posted a 39-inch vertical leap (4th fastest in combine) and a 3.11 sprint time (also 4th fastest).

I'm not all that interested given he is a junior and his on-court production at Santa Clara wasn't exactly mind-blowing, but maybe he'll move up far enough to knock one of our favorites down a notch.

Not going to happen but a trade down netting Jalen Terry and Jalen Williams would be amazing

Yeah, it’s hard to picture the pels stepping up on Daniels when they have Cj, Graham, and Alvarado under contract for the foreseeable future. Not sure where they stand with Kira Lewis, but he’s only 20 years old and hasn’t played all the much.

The Spurs have all those picks, so you never know what they might end up doing in terms of trades. I could see them having interest in Mathurin or Griffin also. Maybe even Jovic.

I think Detroit is actually the biggest threat at 5.

From watching a handful of Dyson Daniels interviews, Im absolutely certain that Tommy loves him. Add in the Australian factor and his two feet/non ball dominant play style, and it’s even more of a match. It’s a position of need as well. I think it’s pretty obvious that he’s our guy.

The question remains, will he be there at 10? I really don’t think so.

I still don't get why Spagnolo is not being talked about. He would be a steal in the late 2nd.

I don't see it.

Even if Daniels' shot has improved, he's not an off-ball player. If you are drafting him in the top 10, it's because you plan on putting the ball in his hands and having him make decisions for you. Detroit already has that guy in Cunningham. If they want to add another guard, they're going to learn toward a shooter/scorer/finisher who can play off Cunningham - a guy like Sharpe or Mathurin. But frankly, a 2nd option big man is their greatest need, so a guy like Smith, Banchero or Murray make a lot more sense than Daniels.

Daniels might be a decent fit in Portland at #7. He could guard the best 1/2/3 for the opposition and play a little point forward on offense to take some of the load off of Lillard.

San Antonio seems like the only other team that might draft him ahead of us.

It's still possible. NO is stacked at the forward position - Ingram, Herb, Zion, Murphy, and Hayes.

JV will hold down starting center. I don't think any of the impact centers filter down to us, so that leaves the guard spot.

Graham is purely meh. CJ is on the older side. Alvarado is a gimmick bench player. If we can score a starting caliber guard (even if they need a few years), that's a draft need worth pursuing.
