They are getting a lot of ticky tack fouls. Refs + missed shots gave the Suns this run. That's whats annoying about it.

Washington has a knack for giving up a basket and then coming back and taking a terrible, quick shot. Then they usually give up a long rebound and a either a three or an an-one.
Wittman, it's okay. The tank is warming up. Keep Rashard out there.

Rashard Lewis is more washed up than a wave crashing on the beach shore.

Though it's weird that Wittman doesnt call any timeouts.

I am amazed at how quickly the Wizards can take themselves out of a game. Don't think I've ever seen a team that can go from competitive to blowout in less time.

The team went from 55-54 to 55-62 really quick before a TO. Then, after the TO it got worse. It was 78-58 and no TO.
This was just missed shots, rushed shots, and small ball by the Wizards. They're getting inside and outside looks.

Please stop complaining about the officiating. It's pointless. The refs miss calls in every direction. They're not even remotely a cause for the Wizards' suckitude.

Myself I want to complain about actually playing Roger Mason all of a sudden. Don't pretend we couldn't be calling up all sorts of D League royalty with that roster spot.

The refs had nothing to do with the team going down 20, but they did miss some when it was competitive.
The meltdown has been all Wizards.

Oh don't shoot well like you're still a good shooter toiling under the oppressive confines of small sample sizes Roger, blow tremendously so I can keep wanting you waived.

Same with heavy minutes for Lewis. This is like a Flip-coached game by Wittman.

Crawford chuckfest in progress. 3 on 2 fast break and he jacks up a 3.

Jordan Crawford has managed two points per shot this evening. A well articulated argument for the value of process as opposed to result-oriented evaluation.

Re: The Future(Wall) at The Past(Nash) Game Thread: 2/20 9et
Nivek, the complaining was pages ago. It kind of bothers me to make that a focus, because I wasn't even thinking about the refs any more.
I'm wondering if Singleton is any good. What the Wizards should do with McGee. Wittman clearly likes to sub him out, but subbing in Vesely isn't helping most of the time. More than anything, it is a game where Nick has shot poorly and once again, the Wizards competed for a while before totally losing it.
Washington came out in the third, and outscored Phoenix 7-1. They led 55-54. Then, Javale had the sequence with Gortat in the middle of things going poorly. Soon, Wall had a charge called. Young missed a shot. And by the end of the third, Phoenix had gone on a 31-6 run to win the quarter 32-13.
Vesely in for McGee was a bad move.
This game bothers me, because they really don't know how NOT to go into hero ball when things go bad.

Childress can't even get in the game during a blowout. Real smart giving him that long term deal. The Suns FO has a lot of screwups since Nash has been there.

And it all starts with Nick dribbling and jacking shots.
He should be mandated that he is not allowed to dribble. 99/100 times it leads to.
Him getting trapped farther ways from the basket.
Him spinning and jacking a really tough contested shot.
Him just wasting time on the clock and gaining no advantage.
or a turnover.
Nick should catch and shoot spot up 3s. That is it 70% of the time. He is a bench player. He could be really valuable if that was what he did.
But how he has been playing. His is terrible and he kills this teams momentum when it has some.
All unless he is having one of those microwave nights.

Re: The Future(Wall) at The Past(Nash) Game Thread: 2/20 9et
This game is a microcosm of why these players either a) shouldn't be in the NBA or b) shouldn't be getting minutes on a semi-decent team:
a) Mack, Serpahin, Singleton, Mason, Lewis
b) Young, Crawford, Vesely
Nearly the entire rotation for the Wiz shouldn't even sniff the court, but they are all receiving significant minutes on this team. Ugh, EG sucks so terribly it pains me that Ted will probably re-sign him after the season.
Oh and Wall and McGee sucked fat ones tonight as well.

I've wanted a center like Gortat on this team for what, 7 years now? So frustrating watching games like this.
