Some hot shooting kept us in it, but Spurs are too good for us to keep pace.
Beal with a few nice plays but it really doesn't matter if he's going to keep laying bricks on those wide open shots.

Here is where I question Beal's minutes when you have guys like Martin and Livingston on the roster. They have more size and can get after it at both ends in sparse minutes. Cartier didn't get much burn at all in the first half. I don't understand Livingston not playing once SA starts jacking threes.
Also, If I were a coach Manu wouldn't be shooting over Beal. I would have Webster on him.

What bothers me is that he doesn't seem to be on balance. Isn't that rule number one for a shooter.

Good thing we've got Ariza and Okafor locked up until 2014.

I feel the need to look away. Nothing more to see here. This one seems like a shooting drill for the Spurs ...

Price having a really nice game. Seems him and Webster are two players who want to step up their games.
Any other takers ? Anyone want to be an NBA ball players. Cuz this is your chance. Your are on an NBA team that is willing to play anyone who wants to ball.
Going one
Going twice

Webster has played almost twice the minutes of Ariza.
Okafor's taken 2 FGA and has 2 rebounds. In less minutes, Seraphin took 10 FGAs, also has 2 rebounds, but also 2 more steals and one more block than Okafor.
Yup, queridiculo, it's a good thing EG and Ted got some veterans on the roster.

You guys are being far too hard on him for missing the 3s. I'm pretty confident he'll improve on that aspect as he keeps playing in the league. What I'm more concerned about is his lack of aggression off the bounce, when he has a lane into the paint. I don't expect him to break guys down with the dribble, but there's no reason why he can't get in there and shoot some floaters or attack the body of some bigmen with his mature frame.

I have no qualms with Beal at all. He's got all the time in the world.
I'm just saying IMO Wittman could maximize his chance at a win by playing some other guys more minutes and Beal a little less than he did.
For example, as much as I complain about Ariza, the last two minutes before the end of the half, Ariza wouldn't allow easy threes if Witt gave him more burn. I don't think Webster should sub only for Ariza.

I don't think anyone was being to hard on him. But your concerns are more important. lol

Eh, we're hard on him because that was supposed to be his game. The second part of your statement is something we knew he wasn't particularly proficient at yet. If anything, that's the area of his game that we should be lenient on.
He's gotta hit shots. If he doesn't that means we've taken 3 horrible jump shooters in three straight first rounds. Not a recipe for success.

Right now, Webster is just a better outside shooter. Specially with his feet set. On a team that really needs that, he should be getting way more looks.

Have been really impressed by Beals on man defense.

Watching Okafor take that 15 foot jumper is excruciatingly painful to watch

Well, Seraphin is officially a black hole. Another promising development for the Wizards.

It is what it is with Okafor. You can really only hope that he'll be a good complement to Nene if he ever gets healthy (which might just be by the time Okafor is in the final year of his contract lol).

Not to mention that unlike Splitter, Kevin doesn't hit the glass.
If I were a coach I would show this game film to Kevin and not do much but show Splitter's passes and his rebounds. I would compliment the guy's court vision, unselfishness, patience, and toughness to go for boards.
"This is good work by a young player" might be what I would emphasize.
