Didn't we have Barbosa? Why can't we hold on to decent players. God I miss James Singleton.

This is the 2nd year in a row that EG has given the Wizards an awful back up point guard. If the Wizards back up point guards are so awful, why not just bring Tomas Satoransky over already and let him play? He can't be any worse than Maynor or Price.

Price wasn't so bad, he was actually serviceable. Maynor doesn't do anything well...nothing!

Yeah. Price was out of his depth when he was thrust into a starter's role with Wall out, but Price was fine as a 2nd string PG - not great, but not particularly bad either.

Maynor's current TS is 37%. If this keeps up he could be the Crown Prince of Suck.

On the bright side, Maynor is better than Anthony Bennett.

What ought to be worrying to Wizards fans is that the front office behavior -- signing him on the first day of free agency, giving him the full BAE, giving him an option year -- indicates they thought they were getting an upgrade. They thought they were getting a steal by moving quickly to lock him up.

Maybe Ernie lost a bet. Or owed Maynor money after a wild night on the town and a few unlucky games of strip poker. There are a lot of options here and you guys are seriously oversimplifying things.

And if Cleveland had taken Porter, I think it's a near certainty Grunfeld would have picked Bennett.

Dan Gilbert saved Ernie from himself.

People say the greatest trick ever pulled was when the devil convinced people he didn't exist. Bullpucky! The greatest trick ever pulled was when Maynor convinced people he was a basketball player. Maybe if somebody would just ask him, I think he'd say "Heck no, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night."

I said it then, and I'll say it now: in EG's decade+ reign over the team, this is one of the worst moves that we've made. Not in terms of overall impact, of course, but in terms of how indefensible it was. With a lot of the other bad moves we've made over the years, if I squint and fidget enough, I can imagine at least a flimsy justification for why EG may have considered it a reasonable decision at the time. Not this one though. Just pure, unfiltered incompetence.

Yeah I was explaining it to one of my dad's friends and half way though he thought it was terrible.

EG wasted:
BAE - can't use it this year
4 million

to get a player that is worse than the player he was replacing. Based on the Washington Post article, it seems like AJ Price would have been happy to come back to Washington for the vet minimum. Even the upside of this move was extremely limited because Maynor can opt out if he somehow outplays his deal.

The clincher is the 2nd-year player option that is sure to be picked-up by Maynor. Completely unnecessary and stupid.

This signing clearly demonstrates what we already know about Ernie Grunfeld, that he is every agents/GM's bitch at the negotiating table. I hope Ernie never ends-up in prison.

Lets call it like it is. There is no movement without the ball. Maynor is a pass first PG with Temple, Seraphin and Veseley to pass to.......Team defense is garbage. Beal and Wall go for 20/18 points on 50 shots  The majority of Walls assists are spot up jumpers from 15+ ft.
