I have to say, as someone who supports Porter, he looks like crap. He should have been sent down to the d-league with Rice, but of course he wasn't because that would mean that Grunfeld swallowed his pride.

I honestly think Porter's lack of development is due to organizational incompetence more than anything else. It's the same reason why Beal hasn't improved, and why Ernie's kids haven't developed. I mean, Vesely may not be in the NBA next year...that's how bad he is.

Yes but TGW this was the guy that was the MOST NBA ready player available.

He wasn't a project like Giannis Antetokounmpo was supposed to be.

Oh wait. GA is tearing it up while Porter looks terrible.

The bench was actually pretty good today save Singleton, when he came in it went all down hill. Dude obviously hasn't bought into the 'Team' concept. But Seraphin played very well and under control and played for the most part played solid defense and made smart decisions. Ves was solid and active as well. Martell would have had a better grade had he not missed a bunch of wide-open threes (same for Ariza).

Instead of always looking at the negatives look at the positives. Our starters played low minutes -especially Nene and Gortat- and Beal probably played his best game thus far into the season. We also out rebounded them (+9), assisted them (+10), and blocked them (+9). Those are some very good numbers.

Well, I missed on MCW, but I wanted Hardaway and GA. Now I hope that Porter makes big progress next year. It does mean that Ariza isn't close to being disposable - which further complicates the cap situation.

It isn't that EG missed on Porter - more like Porter, Singleton, Booker, Singleton, Mack, et. al. - it is the total body of work that stinks soooo badly.

So you are saying you would rather have had MCW? Come on, you can be straight with us...

I never really considered MCW b/c we had Wall. I did really like Burke though. At least Bennett has an NBA body (and he's slimmed down since the start of the year). Bennett has shown NBA caliber explosiveness. Porter doesn't show ANY Nba ability whatsoever. Rice is certain;y the better NBA propsect IMO. He's got an NBA body, has shown he can D up, can has got NBA caliber athleticism. Porter doesn't do ANYTHING out there.

I said before the season started that Giannis was way better than Porter (and got ridiculed for saying it by some Pro Porter supporters).

If we could get a pick in the 20s in the draft for Porter, and take someone like Jordan Adams (Ruz's fav), McDermott (CCJ's fav), I'd do it in a heartbeat.

I think Porter didn't come out with enough focus today. The first turnover was the result of him not even looking for his shot and telegraphing the pass which lead to a fastbreak opportunity for the 76ers. The second turnover was just a mental lapse where he had an easy pass available to Webster but tried to get fancy with an alley oop to him. He is a rookie though so these kinds of mistakes can happen- hopefully this is not a trend.

I would actually like to see Porter try to be more assertive offensively and try to shoot his way out of this slump. Right now, I think he is too passive and the Wizards are essentially playing 4 on 5 offensively when he's on the floor. Perhaps this can change when he starts to knock down jumpers consistently which has been shaky so far this season.

Just starting to watch the game now. While the results on Walls jumper have been mixed his form looks so much better than it did two years ago.

I don't want to - but you have to credit the coaching staff for Wall's progress. Hopefully that will come to Beal and then to Porter.

I will say - I can't really fault Wittman for the 8 man rotation after watching today's game. If Booker is out - Then a 9 man rotation with Vesely and Seraphin.

Seraphin with 16 pts that's a big surprise.

Seraphin actually took it to the basket a few times and hit the boards. Might have been an imposter.

Enjoyed the game until the end.. Luckily it was DVR'd on NBA League Pass "Freeview" (Jan 20-26th I think) so I FF'd to 4x speed and watched w/ an accelerated heart rate, hoping they hadn't squandered a 20+ point lead in 5 minutes.. lol Thought the bench looked decent until they brought in Porter and Co.. I guess it's just because he was so bad before, but I get a kick out of watching Vesely play.. He's no #5 obviously, but I still see him as useful if handled properly.. It's taken him this long to show any signs of life, maybe there's hope for Porter too..

Ready to chalk Porter up to another EG turd burger. I don't see any glimmer of an NBA talent. The guys looks clumsy and awkward out there.

Porter always has looked clumsy and awkward. Even in college. It's why I advocated not drafting him. Not an nba ready body, not NBA level explosiveness, and not a history as a great shooter (last year only).

Then again, I wanted Bennett so WTF do I know?

Beal has gotten better. Porter's lack of development is because he's barely played. He's barely played because he missed a bunch of time with an injury and is behind two good SFs on the depth chart. And this is the first year Vesely has actually shown signs of belonging in the NBA. He'll find a team next season.

Good to hear, but I'm going to try to refrain from watching the standings either the Wizards break .500 or after the All-Star break. If the Wizards take care of business, they'll be fine standings-wise.

The only disaster scenario is finishing 7th or 8th. While I certainly prefer to make the playoffs and get home court for round one, I'd be happy with anything above 7th or 8th.

No he hasn't. PER, TS%, and efg% is almost exactly the same as last year (actually his numbers this year are a little down from last year).

Sorry, Beal has made relatively no improvement from last year. He's still not a very good player.
