I'm not sure if we could have survived because it would have been unlikely that Wall would have been able to play today AND Saturday at full strength even missing Tuesday's game. At least now, with a total of 6 days since he last played to get treatment and rest, there's a shot (don't know how good it is though) he can improve well enough to where he can play through the pain beginning Saturday & going forward.

Or maybe even by Monday?

Or frick'n not...

So John's pretty much out for the playoffs. Well, this was fun while it lasted. I hope the rest of the guys can give ATL a tough series.

So our chances have been fractured and displaced.

Really feel bad for John. To work hard all year and then go out when your team has a chance to on a run must be tough. Get well soon bro!

I was wondering. I remember seeing the slow mo of his hand hitting the ground and I thought to myself...

Yikes..

Don't give up hope people.

They played well last game.

Next game is at home.

Troop have to rally. Nene needs to produce or sit. And with no Nene out there, the floor is open for Gortat.

Otto and Beal just need to step it up another notch.

This is still a good team even without Wall.

Next man up..

Is it against rational hope that he may still be able to play?

Not if Wall is any kind of REAL man. I mean, it's JUST five fractures in his hand. Not even displaced. :noway:

Only player I think that is crazy enough to play with this is Kobe Bryant.

John Wall Appreciation Thread - Part III

Post#110 » by Induveca » Thu May 7, 2015 10:48 pm

I suspect he's already in a brace for 6 weeks. Bones in the hand are so delicate if they didn't need to be set its best to ensure there is no more movement.

Sucks but it's true. I broke my hand years ago and it never set correctly. The good news is even though it healed oddly I have zero loss of function in any sport. :)

Wall will be fine.

Indu has it right. Bones in the hand are small. It makes no sense for him to try and play. We don't need another RG3 situation.

Judging by how his fingers bent I sort of question how effective he'd be even if he decided to play. I very much doubt he can bend his digits on that hand.

Exactly what I was going to say.

It's commendable that Wall may try to play, but we can't risk long term permanent damage. Can't have another RG3 situation. I want Wall to be our franchise cornerstone for the next decade. Lets give it our best effort without him this year and then recuperate and come out hard next year.

Listened to Colin Cowherd this morning. What a moron. Perfect example of a guy who made a statement in the past - that might even have had merit at the time he said it - and now feels he has to defend the statement, no matter how asinine it looks.

He was going on and on about how little guys can't win a title by themselves. (Duh - no one can win a title by himself.) Ragged on Rose and Wall, kept talking about 6'2 guys as if they were little 6-foot PGs. Said you need size to win a title.

OK, whatever - his point is that a PG can't win a title alone, got it. Then he got just stupid.

Said he'd build his franchise around Jimmy Butler before Wall or Rose. Really? I like Butler fine, but c'mon man, you're just trolling now.

You mean to tell me that Jimmy Butler is going to win a title where Wall or Rose can't?

And then he waxes eloquent about how Butler plays at both ends of the floor, and when has Wall ever changed a series with his defense?

Are you even watching any of the games?

Really dug his way in when he said the reason the shoe companies push Iverson & Marbury but Shaq never reached the level of popularity that he would have otherwise is because the target market - 14-20 year old ballplayers - can relate to the little guards more than to the big guys. And that's why Wall is more popular than he ought to be.

Huh? Did I miss the wall-to-wall (pun intended) ads featuring John? Did I overlook the Wall Sprite Remix? What is he even talking about?

OK, pine and fish - this is where you tell me to use the Ignore button on The Herd. I'm sure it will be good for my health...

Wall dribbled.

Swelling mostly down.

Will see doctor tomorrow.

Looking like he might actually make my game 5 projection.

But it will clearly ride on what the doctors say.

Temple also comment on Wall returning soon

We would have swept with wall! hands down! I say sit him game 5, game for literally could have been won by gortat and otto having an averge game. they had a rough night and we had some bad rolls. if we go down they see if wall can go for 6, if we win 5 sit him 6 and see if we can close it out with out him! if we go to game 7 see if we need him! But I don't think you drag him out with the series tied .
