Ive only looked at footage of Zion and Bol Bol

I honestly think Zion is a touch over rated. I'd take Bol #1.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

Myles Powell

I got us 1st pick on my 3rd try (7th and 8th first). All of us have to pray every single night that they lose enough so playoffs are pretty much impossibility before trade deadline -> Ernie gets axed  for letting Ted down and some positive trades, for once, happen.

There are 6 teams in the East whom we will not equal or pass this year -- the current top 5 plus Miami. I think Brooklyn is almost certain to finish ahead of us as well.

The Pistons, Hornets & Magic are more worrisome. Detroit is doing its now customary dive. I think one of the other two will have to play at least passably well to keep our awful team out of the EC playoffs.

If we go .500 the rest of the way, which I find hard to imagine, we'll win 37 games. We started out 2-9 & are 11-12 since then. If we continue at that last pace, it'll be 36 wins.

OTOH, we are 3-7 in the last 10. I don't think the move for Ariza will make us better, & it's a certainty that adding Chasson Randle & Ron Baker won't do it.

Truth is... unless Ernie is fired it won't matter. We'll never be a truly good team. As we never have been.

BTW, not much help coming from the European side. Sekou Doumbouya might go in the first round but he is raw. I can't see anyone else making it into the first round. Pretty weak draft from that side of the pond.

If we cannot get a top 3 pick for Zion, Barrett or Bol. Then the best way to go would be Cam Reddish. We’re not going to be able to move Wall.
Reddish looks like he will develop into a very nice shooter which would suit walls playing style.

Moving Otto and having a core of Wall,Beal and Reddish would be a better fit.

Bol Bol is definitely my guy this draft. We need length, skill, shooting touch, shot blocking and he’s got all that.

Now we need to get Danny Ferry in as GM to draft him like Danny’s dad drafted Manute.

Then maybe Danny can bring in Mackie Shilstones son - if he has one. Shilstone was the guy who was brought in by the bullets to try and bulk Manute up, they asked him what he would charge the team, and he apparently said pay me by the pound.

And if Otto is still here at that point we could have him tag along as well - bulk rate deal, so to speak.

As of today Wiz are 3.5 games out of the 4th worst record, which gives them basically an even shot at the #1 pick under The Association’s new draft lotto system.

I’m kinda glad Wall is out. Frankly, I’d have Beal get a mysterious medical issue (back spasms?) that keeps him out of enough of the remaining season that we seriously “compete” for a top 4 lotto slot.

Zion or Bol would be an awesome way to start a franchise reboot.

The 2019 draft will be the first with the NBA’s reformed draft lottery odds. Under the new rules, the teams with the three worst records have an equal 14 percent chance of receiving the No. 1 pick. The team with the fourth-worst record has a 12.5 percent chance, an almost negligible difference of odds. In years past, the NBA drew ping-pong balls for the top-three picks. Now, it’s four.

I want no part of Bol Bol, he's got an odd frame that's never going to fill out, and he's just going to get pushed around in the pros, and I still haven't seen anybody make a compelling argument about how Zion's dominance is going to translate into the pros.

FWIW I think there is no Zion vs Bol debate. It's Zion 100% 20 times out of 10.

He's got handle and quickness and smarts and power and BBIQ and defense and rebounding and passing and charisma and coachability. And he plays a position of need in the league. Bol is a nice player in a league where a face up 5 is no longer an anomaly, but he has lateral quickness issues and a high center of gravity that will limit his versatility in a league where Bigs find themselves benched for defensive issues due to a steady diet of P&R and outside ball movement.

By contrast Zion can play in a 'switch everything' defense and still match up well with players positions 2-5. And be an overmatch for the opponent no matter which player switched on him. His outside shot was a question but it looks like he is steadily improving it. And if it continues to trend upwards, with his handle and quicks and size I could see him basically playing a Power Wing --to coin a position. He's basically playing 2 guard in many Duke sets. And his crossover is beating guard defenders with ease. The way LeBJ is a strength mismatch at 3-4, I can see a way to play Zion as a mismatch playing positions 2-4. As for leverage, he doesn't have a high center of gravity, he IS a center of gravity. He is the fulcrum for Archimedes lever, "Give me a long enough lever I can move the world". Put it on his back, he will move the world, or at least leverage us into the stars.

imagine Wall sending lobs to Zion, zion breaking the backboard, while PIF and Nate do the dougie on the sideline to migos' versace

Basically in a league that is moving towards Positionless basketball, you want a whole team of Kawhi Leonards. Players who can dominate at both ends of the floor and not just match up but overwhelm whatever player they are faced against. No matter the 'position'. Zion is that player in this draft.

Trying not to be jaded that as the roof caves in on rebuild III for idiot EG, we crater in the run up to a seemingly craptacular draft.

We really need to do this thing right. Any general thoughts on how deep this draft will be in elite difference making players? I haven't been paying as much attention as in years past (been swallowed whole by dynasty fantasy football and the inept rebuild the USMNT has attempted since the debacle in Couva).
