Call it what you want, but Tre should be leading the team in attempts. 4/16 from George and Tre was 7/11...

Re: Tre Johnson: welcome to the DMV
I was very lukewarm on this pick and was pissed with missed out on Bailey…but…

As someone mentioned earlier, looks to be our best draft pick since Wall.
Beal was a bunch of empty stats and always came off as beta and hesitant at times. Tre looks like an aggressor and confident as hell. And insane handles.

I wonder if we really would have drafted Fears if Tre was gone, the basketball gods really did us a solid after lottery debacle.

Tre is definitely clutch too. He came up big late in several games. I remember specifically the game against Texas A&M he was struggling most of the game then came up huge in the end to win in OT in a big rivalry game.

Tre is going to be a real one for you guys. He could step in and average 20 his rookie year. He’s that good. Plus I’ve heard he has an insane work ethic, you guys found yourself a keeper.

I thought the front office was “locked in on Fears”?

I was like no way in hell, they sitting up here with a birds eye view of Corey Kispert and all his shortcomings, and yet still fantasizing over Kon Knueppel. I know, I know... not all white guys are alike but I'm confident in saying these two are! The same height & weight, similar skillset and characteristics. Slightly different body type & Kispert is older but basically a lot of direct parallels. I know spreadsheet FC was going crazy about "the perfect intersection of shooting and processing" but I've seen enough to know that being undersized, unathletic and having an inability to create your own shot is basically 3 strikes and your out as far as high level NBA prospect.
Low usage role players that cannot defend are fast becoming a dying breed. - I notice folks are quick to attack the high usage poor defenders recently but its really the low usage poor defenders that fail to hold much value - especially in the post season.
It was wild to see folks lock Kon in as a top 5 pick and on the same board, have Tre in many cases 5-10 spots lower. Tre grilled for his shot selection & defense while Kon was praised for his connectivity and shooting. I have my own reasons on why this was the case but this is not probably the best forum for that debate.

Fears was the misdirection play since we locked in on Bub in a similar fashion the year before.
Rumors were heavy about moving up for Ace, VJ or even Fears or just staying put & taking Fears.
Tre was the one we heard the least about being connected to the Wizards as draft night approached. I remember Bub telling Tre on draft night, "we been talking about you for a minute" so they have locked in on him early.

I mean, Kon went top 5 above Tre.
Maybe give it more than 2 summer league games before insinuating everyone that disagreed with you is racist.

Yeah its funny that we heard nothing prior to the draft about the Wizards being in on Tre. That actually made me pretty nervous when Utah picked Ace. I was like are they going to pass on Tre? That was a nervous few minutes.

You were also confident in Sharife Cooper, wanted to trade future 1sts+ a top 10 pick for Jaden Ivey, called him the next Ja Morant, called Scoot Henderson the next John Wall, wanted to pick Cam Whitmore 8th overall, who was just given away for a couple of 2nd round picks.
But yet, you seem to be insinuating people are racist or something for disagreeing with you?
It goes a little deeper than race... a lot of its preconceived biases that are built in even if were not self-aware of it. The pure shooter & aggressive scorer is viewed as a shot jacker with Cam Thomas tendencies even though he can really pass and has ideal length to defend. The spot up shooter is labeled as the best shooting prospect ever, a connective genius with creation upside but can't shoot off the dribble or create in space but those skills are still seen in a very positive light. Not saying this is purposeful ... but I am getting to the point where I feel like I can point out the inherent biases in scouting some guys have - Especially when you look a player from many different vantage points.
You also love doing this gotcha bs like a jealous female but you fail to realize its a two way street. No one is perfect at this. We ALL have are clear misses - You were the founding member of the 'Johnny Davis, Wizards PG of the future' fan club so please be quiet and know your proper role in the order of things.

Re: Tre Johnson: welcome to the DMV
Nobody was talking about Kon top 5 until after the lottery when the hornets got the 4th pick. After awhile word got out that they liked the local Dukie and only then did he get mocked top 5.
If Kon played at Arizona I seriously doubt he gets picked at 4.

I gotta disagree here. While there are definitely racial biases (in both directions) when evaluating players, I don't think it came into play with respect to Kneuppel. If anything, his type of player protype typically gets underrated by scouts. Three of the most successful undrafted guys in the league right now are 6-5-ish white guys: Austin Reaves, Alex Caruso, and Duncan Robinson. Other similarly productive white-guy guard/forwards in college like Kispert, Grayson Allen, and Divincenzo typically were pegged about right by pre-draft experts - as high-floor, low-ceiling rotation players who should go in the mid-to-late first round. Few of them were overrated on draft day.
Luka is another white guy who probably got underrated due to race. He should have gone #1 but fell to #3, probably because he was perceived as too unathletic to hang in the NBA.
Where white guys often get overrated is when it's a white guy who is regarded as "athletic", even though they have shown minimal skill - guys like Chase Buddinger and Jan Vesely. There might still be a contingent of owners who think they can fill their arenas by featuring high-flying white guys, I guess.
I frankly have no idea why Kneuppel got ranked so highly in pre-draft evaluations. Maybe it's the Duke connection. But I don't really think it's race.

Eastern European White Guys are a different breed. They are practically light skinned, for NBA racial purposes.
