He's going back to Cleveland.

Bet ESPN is pissed tho... lol. He breaks it with a huge splash page on CNNSI.com while ESPN.com still headlines "waiting."

Yep was thinking the same thing.

Wow - he mentioned Irving, Thompson, Waiters, and Varejao, but not Wiggins.

Looks like he'll be getting some Love in his home town.

He kept it short and sweet in the article on SI.com.

Among his reasons for going home were raising his kids where he was raised and bringing a championship to where he grew up.

Needless to say I'll be forwarding that to KD in email form shortly.

Huh.

Wow!

Everybody deserves a second chance. Grown up move by Cleveland's owner, I think.

Wiggins played how many (actually) NBA minutes??? don't believe the hype just yet. He may not even be there come this time next week.

Yeah lebron didn't mention Wiggins OR Bennett in the article. Still, how can they trade for love with Wiggins unsigned?

Setting basketball feelings aside for a sec, I though his story was very well said. I can appreciate his honesty and reasoning.
Just let the young boys play! It's truly the only hope at this point.

Keep dreaming, what exactly why would KD come back to D.C. for (he can see his family anytime). For sure he will not win a ring here. 78 was a long time ago.

His reasoning is rock solid.

Meh, I'm not discounting that returning home played a part in it, but does anyone doubt he would have stayed in Miami if it was not for getting their a** handed to them by the Spurs and the decline of Wade. Does anyone really believe he would have returned to Cavs if they didn't have their luck of landing all those high picks? I think he is going back to the Cavs because they have the first round picks and flexibility to build him a championship team.

Actually, that was the point. Him not mentioning Wiggins could be an indication that Wiggins is on his way out (with Bennett?) to Minny for Love.

mhd - I wonder if it would be better to sign Wiggins first, in order to help even out the salaries? Wiggins & Bennett would probably be close to $11M. Throw in an Alonzo Gee (if he hasn't been renounced) and you could get close enough to match Love's contract. Can't see them including Varejao at this point, so they have to get enough salary one way or another.

I don't think I'll ever like Lebron, so I'll continue to read bad intent into everything he does. I wonder whether Lebron feels somewhat threatened by Wiggins, that Wiggins might become the hometown hero that Lebron once was?

I think he did the right thing.

Great story him going home.

He needed to leave when he did so he could learn to win a title.
Now he can bring that knowledge back to Cleveland and pass it on to their younger talents.

If he can pull it off. His career will shine a light brighter then it would have otherwise.

No Flopping
Hard work.
Teaching

We might just change the title of this thread if he pulls that off.

I look forward to playing the new Cleveland team.

Lebron was carrying the Heat. Miami's run was up. It was the time to leave IMO.
