Alan Anderson is such a turd. He said back in early december he was close to playing. Lmao this doo is actually getting paid millions to wear a suit and wave a towel. Jeddie does it better for 1/10th the price.

Or are we still working on getting KD2DC - hence we need to make the playoffs.
I'm fully expecting an all-in approach this deadline. I won't be surprised if we hand out our first rounder this year for Ryan Anderson or someone on that level. They need to keep the dream alive.

Yup, and its only one game. BTW, I think a poll should go up after the game tomorrow on what WILL happen, not should:
a) Trade to compete
b) Trade for picks (Tank)
c) Nothing

I continue to believe that they're not stupid and desperate enough to trade a 1st round pick for a 30-game rental. They could conceivably trade the pick for a guy on a longer term contract, or a RFA like Terrence Jones, but I just can't believe they'd trade the pick for Ryan Anderson.

I think we all want to believe that Nate... but past pattern of behavior would lead me to think otherwise sadly
On the topic of T. Jones, his injury prone status lately makes me wonder if he can be had for cheaper. I doubt HOU wants to pay him... and they are supposedly in a market for a shooter... if Neal+2nd+Hump? for T. Jones+filler could be done I'd prolly do it.
I still want to see if we can get Andrew Nicholson for cheap as well. Maybe he can be had in a cheap 3 way, but I haven't pondered how exactly yet since we don't have anything I think ORL would covet outside of maybe 2nd rounders... doubt they'd do Neal straight up for him.

Tucker's perfect - turned 30, has declining stats with a PER barely over 10 and a 47.3 eFG, he can step into our way under-sized PF slot, and has another year left on his contract.

To which past behavior are you referring? The closest analogy was the Gortat trade, but that was for a full season, not a 30-game rental. And furthermore, Gortat was going to be a free agent in a climate with only one other suitor than us - giving us a high likelihood of retaining him. Ryan Anderson will have about 20 potential suitors with insane cap room.

Maybe EG pulls off something, I would be devastated to loose our pick this year. If we give up a 2017 first and anderson agrees to a 3 years extension, im ok with that.
but does ryan anderson really get us to the play offs??????????? im not sure he does?

I've read elsewhere teams like TOR are willing to give up a first for basically players like these aforementioned ones... I wouldn't put it past EG to try to outbid them in order to preserve himself. I have no reason to believe he has learned from his mistakes of old. He still goes for declining **** vets... Part of this is also how badly will Ted allow EG to put a bandaid on his self inflicted wounds... Gortat has been the only trade where we gave up a pick... but the Okariza trade was also a bad trade and lost us the ability to acquire FAs with upside... so it isn't like he is devoid of making trades in the Leonsis era that were mistakes in hindsight.
To top it all off... the guys listed... I think only maybe Anderson you could say is an outright better S4 then Humpries, lol.
They haven't learned...

Yea, there's absolutely no reason to be interested in Tucker...at all.

You know what might be worse than EG making a **** trade for a one year deal or something like that. EG pulling a couple rabbits out of his ass, and saving his job for the next 5 years.

Obviously, I hope you're right -- but I don't see what "stupid" has to do with it. They'll do anything at all, as long as they can spin it, to avoid a so-called "step backward." It'll be important the young players to have continuity in "knowing how to win" (i.e. make the playoffs) or something stupid like that.
Put another way: if Ernie and Ted could make a trade that came with a guarantee of making the playoffs this year - 8th spot would suffice - they'd give our coming R1 pick without a second thought. And they are both of them egotistical enough to think they have the chops to identify the guy who'd bring that guarantee along w/ him: Ryan Anderson might well fit the bill in their minds.
(Which makes me wonder whether anyone will recollect that we could likely have had Ryan Anderson *instead of* the idiotic Okariza trade so many here still defend. *Without* giving away a R1 pick.)
Our best hope may be that Wall, Gortat or Beal gets nicked up and has to miss ten games -- that way Ted might think there's no way we'll make the playoffs and now he has his justificatory narrative: injuries. Not that, in fact, I want anyone to get injured. I don't.

You prove yourself wrong, I think: the fact that we'd have been likely to be able to sign Gortat in the coming off season doesn't justify paying such a high price for a 1-year rental. We took on $14m of salary, not just his $7m, and we gave up a R1 pick.

I think the only way EG and Witt get canned is that we make a couple all in moves, and we don't make the play offs.

yuck--just looked at ryan andersons stats--dudes barely been healthy
i was trying to think of rental scenarios we could get away without giving up otto/pick/kelly
closest thing was Sato and filler
would you guys rage about sato for horford or an anderson rental?
