What about a simple McGee+Turiaf for Monte swap?

Warriors would rather go after McGee in free agency and hold on to Monta

The Warriors aren't going to get McGee in free agency without a sign and trade deal. Even if they wanted to way overpay - to avoid the Wiz matching - they probably couldn't because they're not far enough under the cap.

How about McGee/Blatche for Klay Thompson and Kwames expiring? Salaries match, Washington gets rid of Blatche and still gets a some what decent prospect.

Warriors are looking at around $10 mil in cap space this summer. Maybe more if they move a smaller deal like Dorrell Wright. I'd say that's enough to test the Wiz's resolve to match a guy they don't seem all that high on

JMO, Warriors won't even consider a deal with Blatche in it unless you're taking Biedrens back. Not sure they would then considering the reaction when it was first brought up

My latest:
Wiz trade McGee+Blatche+Turiaf (expiring) for Emeka+Dorell Wright+Minny 2012 1st
GSW trade Udoh+Wright for McGee+Ariza
NO trades Ariza+Emeka+Minny 2012 1st for Blatche+Udoh+Turiaf (exp)

GSW get McGee to be their center, take on Ariza to do it. NO saves a ton of money, Wiz get some needed professionals in Emeka and Wright, while adding the 2012 Minny 1st.

I dont get the Emeka infatuation. Especially at his price tag. I want some quality vets too, but significant consideration still must be given to the impact of acquiring such vets on our cap.

You're not going to find a quality veteran big without paying for him. If you're not willing to spend money, you're going to end up with the Ronnie Turiafs and Juwan Howards of the league.

At least Emeka's contract expires by the time Wall is up for a new contract. I'm strongly in favor of a deal that turns Blatche into Okafor. I'd consider mhd's trade.

I wish I had a crystal ball. Trading McGee for a mid first rounder and a vet big like Okafor makes a heck of a lot of sense if we land Anthony Davis in the draft. It doesn't make much sense at all if we land Harrison Barnes.

Well, assume we draft one of Drummond, Davis, or Robinson. I'd rather have Emeka and the Minny 2012 1st than McGee next to the high lotto pick. That Minny 2012 1st could conceivably be used to draft a really good young wing.

That trade is cap neutral. McGee is going to get 8-10 million. Blatche+McGee (extended) make roughly the same as Emeka.

Yeah but Emeka isn't really that good. He's not nearly the same player he was when he first came into the league. He's the definition of an average NBA player at this stage of his career. I understand the need to spend money, but we'd be trading McGee for the right to pay $13 mil per year for Okafor. That seems like an awfully steep price to me.

Stern isn't trading any picks. You can forget about that. I don't think NO is a good trading partner. The way the league office handled the Chris Paul situation should tell us everything we need to know about dealing with them. They want picks and youth. Not long term contracts and a guy that's a butt of jokes around the league (Blatche).

Certainly get the reasoning Dat, except this deal wipes out Ariza and Emeka's contracts. This deal saves them roughly 23 million in real money not factoring in Udoh's rookie deal. That would be real attractive to a buyer.

Nuggets should consider Faried to fill in more for Nene

http://www.denverpost.com/kiszla/ci_200 ... z1oAO0ZjW2

"Nene is a top-caliber NBA player. I'm just trying to fill his shoes until he gets back," Nuggets rookie Kenneth Faried said Wednesday after pulling down 10 rebounds and making all six of his field-goal attempts in Denver's important 104-95 victory against Portland.

How valuable has Faried been at power forward?

When Nene finally returns from a calf injury, coach George Karl should think long and hard about automatically returning the team's highest-paid player to the starting lineup.

Should Denver consider trading Nene?

Washington sends Andray Blatche, Rashard Lewis, Shelvin Mack for Nene, Arron Afflalo, and Andre Miller

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=6tmp8nh

Afflalo and Hilario are great FG shooters at SG and PF and combined they still earn no more than Lewis alone. Instead of gambling on FAs coming to DC, this solidifies the Wizards lineup at two positions. Miller comes off the books this summer. The Wiz could still pursue either Batum at SF or Hibbert at C. (Or they could add both Novak and Asik as FAs).

Thoughts?

Finally the kind of trade I can get excited about. Those are the kind of players this team needs but that seems kind of lopsided toward us.

As for Ellas trade ideas. Forget it.

I'd rather trade for Faried. :)

I would trade this lotto pick for Faried. Last year I said that Faried was worthy of the #6 pick. I knew he wasn't projected that high, so I said Leonard would be okay there, and Faried with the 18th.

I knew it was yet another incredibly dumb decision not to draft Faried at 18, but I wasn't surprised at all that Grunfeld didn't. Passing on Blair in round 2, and giving up the #5 for Foye and Miller both UFAs at the end of the season were stupid decisions. I knew Faried and Brooks were good enough for the lottery. Before the draft I posted that Faried is better than Blatche and Brooks is better than Young; but I knew the Wizards won't draft either player.

Right now, out of this draft outside of Davis, I'm not sure there is any player better than Kenneth Faried. I know they'd never trade the pick for Faried but if given a choice to do so IMO they should.
