Jackson can take Porter's 6th man tag and we are out of the tax this year and next. Having another guard option in McLemore works nicely too.

Strange way to demonstrate your love by equating him to a bunch of trash.

I'd do that in a heartbeat, but Boston wouldn't. They're not going to ask their franchise player to play out of position to make room for an injury-prone Wall and his gigantic contract.

The only way this makes some plausible sense is if Boston trades Kyrie for Davis (because they can't have both Kyrie and Davis on Designated Player extensions).

I don't really think of Kyrie as a PG - though perhaps he and Boston do. I think of Kyrie, Smart and even Rozier all as combo guards. Last season, Smart averaged slightly more assists per minute than Kyrie did, and Rozier has always been labelled a PG.

I don't disagree. These days, lots of teams start two combo guards rather than a pure PG and a pure SG. Indeed, the pure PG is rapidly becoming obsolete. Unfortunately, Wall is a pure PG.

Between L.A and Toronto imo.

Watch GSW pull a dick move and trade em Cousins.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Knicks in the mix for Davis. Porzingis (assuming he's healthy) and what is sure to be a high lottery pick might get trade talks started.

After that, I'd look for Kyrie or Durant (maybe both) to possibly end up with the Knicks next season as well.

that trade was such a monumental disaster for NO. Ended up trading Hield and a first for a player that makes team's worse.

I hated it for New Orleans the day they made it. You don't pay a big price for a short contract unless you are damn sure that he fits your roster well. Nearly any other star player in the league would have been a better fit in New Orleans than Cousins.

He's going to LAL... probably announced in the next 24-48 hours and will then give them a week to sell off other parts. I guess its possible some hail mary by NYK could throw a wrinkle... but doubt it.
Looks like Ball, Ingram, Zubac, multiple 1st is the main package...wow

I'm assuming KCP will be the primary filler in the deal, and Kuzma will probably be thrown in too.

I wonder if they'll have some 2nd round picks leftover after they're done with the trade. We could send them Ariza for Beasley, Stevenson and McGee. Let them go into the playoffs with a lineup of:

PG Rondo
SG Hart
SF Ariza
PF Lebron
C Davis/Chandler

3 way trade:

Lakers trade: Ball, Ingram, Kuzma, KCP, Beasley, Stephenson, Zubac, 2019 1st, 2020 2nd
Lakers receive: Davis, Ariza, Frazier, K.Williams

New Orleans trades: Davis, Frazier, K.Williams
New Orleans receives: Ball, Ingram, Kuzma, KCP, Zubac, Lakers 2019 1st

Washington trades: Ariza
Washington receives: Beasley, Stephenson, Lakers 2020 2nd

We save $7M and get a 2nd round pick.

And Ernie puts his job in jeopardy by increasing the risk of the team missing the playoffs--for a second rounder and cash.

He won't do it. He's never shown value in second rounders to that extent.

He saves Ted about $14M in the trade. That might help him keep his job.

And he's costed Ted how much money with all the horrible signings? The game value of Mahinmi/Smith/Nicholson was something close to zero, and represented at one point over 40 million wasted dollars a year from Ted's pocket.

Except the team has managed to have a long history of making the playoffs, which is pretty clearly Ted's highest priority, even over the tax, and Ernie keeps managing to do just enough to get us there in this crapshow of a conference.

They want AD in the East.

They want an All Star in return.

Beal for AD!

Absolutely!! If they would go for that, we'd be nuts not to do it.

How about Beal, Mahinmi & Morris for Davis & Hill? What else would we have to give them?
& a subsidiary trade w/ them: Ariza for Mirotic, one of their $1.5m expiring or optioned contracts (doesn't matter who: even Okafor) & Kenrich Williams.

These two trades combined save us over $9.5m. Hill costs less than Mahinmi next year. Who's gonna play SG for us the rest of this year? That's a problem, so lets solve it as follows:

Eli Babak wrote:...Someone posted Hardaway + 2020 1st round pick for Wall on the trade board and I'd be fine with that. I have no faith in Wall changing his habits - at least as long as Brooks is the head coach.

No Hardaway please. How about Wall for Courtney Lee, Mitchell Robinson & Damyean Dotson? They can keep their R1 pick.

We save another $4m this year.

For next year, we have AD, Otto, Solomon Hill, Kenrich Williams, Courtney Lee, Mitchell Robinson, Damyean Dotson, Troy Brown, Satoransky, Dekker, Thomas Bryant, Chasson Randle & our R1 pick -- 13 players out of 14 -- for a total of @ $108m (assuming Sato/Dekker/Bryant = @ total of $15m). Re-sign Green to make it 14.

Robinson, Bryant, Dotson, Brown, Williams & our R1 pick are very young players with a whole lot of combined upside.

AD, Otto, & Sato are young veterans entering the best part of their careers. A really tremendous trio. If he keeps playing the way he has so far as a Wizard, Dekker makes that a quartet. Randle looks to be an acceptable journeyman.

Hill, Lee & Green are solid veteran leaders who can still contribute some.

PIF, AD wants out of New Orleans because he wants to win a championship. I seriously doubt that the team you've assembled above is capable of winning a championship. It's probably not even a top 4 seed in the east. AD would be gone when he becomes a free agent in 2020.

Or maybe you're not really being serious with this scenario. I can't tell for sure.

I think there might be a team out there willing to give up a bit more value for ariza and Jeff green I don't want no part of that Davis trade. If I were magic I'd say naw, take any one except bron and kuzma. If they don't like it. Bye! They can get other all star level guys cheaper than that.

No....they cant
All their elite "Prospects" crapped the bed this year and tanked their value...
Trade everyone necessary. Go into Summer with 26M in cap room and look for a 3rd piece...

Or even trade for Conley or Wall and backfill with Full MLE... Danny Green?
Wall
Green
FA
Bron
AD
