Jason Smith and Andrew Nicholson is kind of sort of similar to adding Delon Watson the same year we add Monte Morris.
Where we double down on dumb is drafting Johnny Davis right after Corey Kispert. I don't see how either player can win in terms of minutes and career
And then having the audacity to give Bradley Beal the most stupid contract I have ever seen

Nope. There was NOTHING at PG.
Adding those two is a miracle considering you had to play NETO as a starter for stretches last season. Sato is gone. Ish is a 3rd PG at best and was used in the trade. Dinwiddie was shooting 26% from THE FIELD and could barely run taking side step 3s with 20 secs left on the shot clock.
I'd rather have two excellent backups/fringe starters than the collection of PGs last season.
I'd agree and then some. I feel like synergy with our guard play is one of the areas where we could suddenly get more production than it looks like from the individual stats.
On Morris we added a game manager and locker room chemistry guy who can help the team heed the new coach and lead them in the system, feed them when they are hot, play off the ball when the ballhandler is working. If Morris can mentor Johnny Davis, guide Rui in where and how to be, and swing the ball to Kuz when he has the mismatch or is having a hot game, then the value of what we already have is increased. Value either in wins and losses or for a midseason trade.
In Wright we added a no-mistake 3 and D PG with good size, who is capable at slowing down point-of-attack ballhandlers and able to fit in next to high usage players. If his D can take pressure off Beal, maybe we see our quarter billion dollar player can work to solve his current disabilities in offensive play. Adding floor spacers around him may make him a dangerous threat to attack even if his own outside shot hasn't recovered.
In Barton we added attitude and desire and that BMore swagger we've seen in a number of players who reached the league out of those proving grounds. A dribble drive guy who isn't a ballhog, but willing to call his own number and won't shrink from the moment. We add energy and attitude that is used to team play, has been part of a team that rebuilt to a winner, and has made it a mission to encourage the guys on this team to expect to win.
Other teams may overpower this squad with talent, but I think in trying to build a team to suit the coach Tommy has at least given us a chance to see a team that plays well together. Yeah the Deni/Rui/Kuz conundrum has to shake itself out, but to me the back court makes sense on paper. If each plays to the capabilities they've shown to this point.
