Fake news. Deni doesn’t have that personality. He’s a pretty humble kid.

So in the 122 minutes that Avdija was off the court, the Wizards got outscored by 85 points, or 33.5 points per 48 minutes.
In the 118 minutes that Avdija was on the court, the Wizards outscored the opposition by 18 points, or 7.3 points per 48 minutes.

Because he plays the right way. He could be more aggressive on offense, but given how they use him, the established veteran pecking order, and the short leashes for the young guys, one can't blame him too much. He really takes pride on the defensive end, you can see the frustration on his face when his teammates are constantly out of position or not trying at all. There was a moment were Bertans as usual screwed up on a fairly simple switch tonight, and he just shook his head.
I'm going to be irate if we trade him.

With all due respect, that statement is self-evidently false. The whole point of my post is that Avdija is an incredibly "plus" player. He leads the team in on/off differential (he'll pass Harrell once tonight's stats post).
I agree that it will be nice when he figures out how to score more. But for now, I don't think his low usage rate is hurting much. It's not like he is turning down the shots he is supposed to take. When he has a look from 3, he shoots. When a defender closes out too hard, he attacks the rim. It's not like he is afraid to shoot and instead gives a teammate the ball with no time on the shot clock. What he doesn't do is force up shots in isolation. That's just smart basketball since he isn't much of an isolation scorer yet. Let Kuzma, Dinwiddie or Harrell take those kinds of shots. They're better at it than Deni.

He’s the best player on the wizards and he’s only going to get better.
