I complained a bunch when Ben was traded for Ike Austin.

The Wizards are one team to complain about.

this guy escaped my radar. Didn't realize jordan clarkson could play pg as well. Hes super shifty. I had looked at his age and numbers and dismissed him but now will take a closer look. Any of you know much about him?

yup. I loved him based off his workout video

He's the shooting guard I wanted the Wizards to take if they took one. Short-lived, but I was happy when I found out he was the pick after learning both bigs that I hoped the Wiz landed were taken back-to-back.

Also, 2M is nothing to sneeze at for a late 2nd.

Again, EG sucks balls...but just keep perspective.

Daniel Miller is a solid big man...he doesn't look the part but he holds his own at center.

Well, let's hope he sticks because we have literally no depth in the front court. I saw him play vs. the Terps and he was a stiff. A ghost on the court.

Miller is a very solid finisher, converting an impressive 67% of his field goal attempts around the basket last season. He has good hands, solid touch, and the ability to play above the rim with ease, sometimes elevating and finishing from impressive distances.

He also shows some flashes of being able to knock down a mid-range jump-shot, even if his shot-selection leaves something to be desired. He hit 76% of his free throws last season, showing solid potential in this area.

Desperate for offense, Georgia Tech tends to throw him the ball into the paint relatively often, but doesn't find much success doing so. Miller doesn't have the lower body strength or know-how of how to establish favorable post position. When he does catch the ball on the block, he shows poor footwork, limited coordination and no left hand, only converting on 38% of his field goal attempts in these situations, and very rarely drawing fouls.

While it's unlikely he'll ever develop into a polished low-post player, Miller's outlook defensively looks far more promising. As mentioned, he ranked as one of the best shot-blockers in the ACC last year, thanks to his terrific combination of size, length, mobility and instincts. He moves his feet very well on the perimeter for a player his size, being capable of stepping out and hedging screens and then quickly recovering. Even when beat by an opposing ball-handler, he's often mobile enough to recover and still make a play at the rim, using his length very well to alter shots around the basket.

While he's a capable help-side defender and gets a decent amount of blocks rotating to help his teammates out, he's also a very solid man to man defender, showing the size and strength to hold his ground in the post against most of the back to the basket targets he faces in the ACC. He's very patient here, rarely biting on pump-fakes, and committing an incredibly low number of fouls.

One area where Miller will have to improve in order to solidify his standing as a NBA prospect is on the glass, on both ends of the floor. He grabbed just 9.1 rebounds per-40 minutes pace adjusted last season, which is fairly poor. Considering the limitations he shows offensively, NBA teams will want to know that he can be counted on to at least contribute at an above average rate here.

Surely not a glamorous prospect by any stretch of the imagination, Miller's size, mobility, shot-blocking prowess and finishing ability give him at least a fighting chance of carving out a role at the NBA level.

Unless the trade for hill or steve nash bit like we would of made an impact. Lets calm down

That isn't the point. The probability that a 2nd rounder is actually worth a damn IS low, but the cost and risk on the franchise is low as well. Low risk, high reward. You make the pic, doesn't matter if you **** it up. But as others have stated, you at least TRY. This is cowardly incompetent BS from EG. My only hope now is Jefferson goes undrafted.
I understand but I guess even EG him self sucks at drafting.

Imo if its for cash so veat it if the man thinks its a waste of time than its a waste of time
I wouldnt mind jordan hill at center tho

We need a PG who can hit perimeter shots so we bring in a guy who shoots like 31% from distance....makes sense....I didn't think the night could get worse but I guess continuously likes to **** the fans over by his **** invites.

Yeah, Wizards worked out Burton once at Verizon Center and he was rated anywhere between 40-50 on most boards

Jordan Bachynski also went undrafted and worked out for the Wiz. He's a better post player than Daniel Miller...

The Spurs got Cory Jefferson at 60, Kyle Anderson at 30.

Compare and contrast with Washington.

Cory is actually going to the nets. Cory+Plumlee is a good backup tandem for them. Plus Cory gets to learn how to set illegal screens from KG!

Anytime the Lakers feel a guy is worth drafting...he's probably worth drafting. Their front office doesn't miss on draft picks often.

He shot higher as an underclassmen from deep, 35% and 37% in his first two years...

Streaky shooter tbh

CCJ--it's obvious the Spurs needed to add talent in this draft and the Wizards were just fine.

I like the rumors.

Burton has the right attitude and confidence.

I never get my hopes up with this team. I was happy with Gortat the day he signed (but the 18th pick and free agency dampens that happiness).

If Burton signs I see him as a can't miss Wizard.
