Guys----Bucks fans put together a pretty good site

Nice statistical work in showing that after you account for the expansion status of Toronto and the Charlotte Bobcats, the Wizards and Bucks are in a league of their own as it relates to ineptness for the period 1991-2013.

Amazingly, Grunfeld has been either the Bucks GM or Wizards GM for 15 of the 22 years studied. I figured you guys would enjoy this information.

With players returning, we finally get to see what we have and talk deals.

While I am not totally comfortable with EG in the draft, he doesn't totally suck when it comes to deals. He has made some good ones.

What I do find funny is that there are deal to be made so the Nene and Okafor/Trevor trades did not kill the team like some predicted.

They can field a good team when moderately healthy and they can still make moves.

What are you talking about Hands? The Okafor/Ariza trade was an unmitigated disaster. Okafor crapped out after one year, and Ariza is a 7 million dollar bench player that won't be resigned. After the panic move of trading for Gortat, they now owe a first round pick for a loaner. It's the epitome of bad management.

Just awful, and sadly, the only way the move is justifiable is if we resign Gortat in the offseason.

Which wouldn't be so bad if wouldn't handcuff our ability to operate in free agency and if it didn't add another 30 year old big to the roster.

Basically Grunfeld blew our cap space on Okafor and Ariza, to turn around and blow our cap space once again with the lost first rounder thrown in to add insult to injury.

Of course if I'm Grunfeld, I'd make damn sure to get rid of every draft pick that's not in the top 3, not like there's any chance I'd hit on them.

Incredible ineptitude on Grunfeld's part. I had no idea it ran that deep.

It's like Lane Kiffin. Just keeps getting new jobs and raises.

Uh, those are some of the worst contracts in the NBA on our books.

If Beal is out for a bit, it could be a blessing in disguise. Getting the 7th or 8th seed is, easily, the worst case scenario for the Wizards. It would mean a Grunfeld contract extension and no 1st round pick next year.

How can you take what I wrote that way ? Really. Saying something didn't kill the team. Saying I am not comfortable with him in the draft but he doesn't totally suck when it comes to deal.

Oh yeah.. That some over the top IV drip stuff right there.

wouldnt it be kind of funny if Porter turned out to be the best player in the draft, and EG got an extension?

It would be funny if EG who kept his job after so many bad picks, trades, signings got fired and then Porter turned out to be the best player in the draft. Heck even the Gortat deal could end up looking good with a savy GM who resigns him to a somewhat team friendly deal.

I think Hands makes some valid points. It sounds like his opinion is based on current transactions and it could be much worse (No need for details). However, I think Ted needs to select his own guy as the future GM of the Wizards. If I was Ted after I press Reply on my phone. I'd call EG into my office and fire his non-winning ass.

The rare occasion where we are in 100% agreement. Contrary to popular opinion, making the playoffs would be an unmitigated disaster for this franchise long term if it meant Ernie got an extension.

Fire Grunfeld

I dont know too much about that.

because if Lebron James never existed the Wizards would have made the finals during the EG years.

People forget that. The Lebron James was the biggest set back for just about any team he has faced, that wasnt already a super star team.

Pretty much agree here as well.

Sitting Beal may be a great thing.

Even sitting Wall a few games here and there, so doesnt look like they tanking, but really are.

Sorry guys, but I've been a Wizards fan too long. Worst case scenario is just missing the playoffs, losing the draft pick, and EG reupped thanks to an heroic if futile performance to end the season.

Truth be told many of us don't really like Ted all that much as an owner...but he understands the value of at least trying to build through high pedigree lottery talent. So to that end, I greatly sympathize for the plight of the bucks. If the greek kid is the real deal, I'd like either Smart at PG or Wiggins at SG for you guys. Hopefully the tank rolls on tomorrow for ya'll.

BTW, whats up with Sanders? :/
